Chelsea defender Ashley Cole is pondering over whether or not he should continue playing football, according to The Mirror.

The Blues full-back has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons in recent times, as it was previously revealed that he allegedly smuggled women in his hotel room while the team was on tour in USA.

Presently, the England international is crocked with a broken ankle, and could remain sidelined for the remainder of the season. Being unable to put in good performances on the pitch to do the talking, coupled with the player's marriage to popstar Cheryl Cole heading down a rocky road, it is believed that the Stamford Bridge defender is planning to call it quits.

However, sources close to the player reportedly believe the 29-year-old former Arsenal defender can be persuaded to continue plying his trade, and not bring his career to an untimely end.

Meanwhile, it is claimed that club owner Roman Abramovich and other top brass in the hierarchy of the London-based outfit have spoken to Cole and assured him that he remains wanted at the club, and will not be fined for his actions as had been reported.

Ashley Cole 'on the brink of suicide'

Ashley Cole's friends believe that the footballer he is feeling suicidal, according to a report.

Following his reported separation from wife Cheryl, the Chelsea and England footballer has allegedly considered leaving the country and even quitting football.

The star reportedly sent a text message to friends saying, "Thanks for everything", leading some to fear that he was considering suicide.

A source told the Sunday Mirror: "The message came completely out of the blue at 3 o'clock in the morning and sent shockwaves through Ashley's camp.

"He has a small and very close-knit circle of friends whom he sent the same message to and everyone who got it was very worried.

"It was totally unprovoked and there were fears about where Ashley was mentally and what he was trying to say.

"He was alone at home in the middle of the night and he seemed to be in a very dark place. It was totally out of character and a clear sign that his state of mind was in a very bad way," the source added.

"He's a broken man. He is in his own world. Ashley can be quite shy but he's always an upbeat person. But at the moment he doesn't want to talk to anyone. He is like a zombie.

"It seems the full scale of whats happening has hit him and its hit him hard. He feels a long way from home and powerless to do anything to stop his marriage unravelling."

Haha, complete ******** that  Goal.com is the worst site ever. They got done recently for making stories up

Either way, A.hole is a rent boy. Best left back in the world, but a rent boy.

true but they took it from a newspaper :shifty: who are always trustworthy...right? :pinch:

I don't believe the source, but it's a shame that stories such as this one only appear after their other half has actually done something. Rather than publicly apologise, it just seems like they're trying to get points back. He knew what he was doing.

PS Why would you cheat on Cheryl Cole? How in the blue **** can you not be happy with her?!

Nope, still see her sis Gillian sometimes, had a few cans in the park with her and her mates a while back, proper down to earth, nice lass, I know why she wont take no money from Cheryl like, when someone thinks they are better than you for so long its principle

    • That adverting your referring to can basically be turned off with a few Windows settings. The only advertising I've seen in the last couple of years on Windows 11 is Outlook ads because I don't have a Microsoft 365 subscription. That said, it took me only a couple days to get used to ignoring those ads. I would prefer they weren't there but it's not a big deal.
    • Petty nerd sums up many peoples dislike for things. i.e. Windows 11
    • I've been using Windows 11 since the day it was released. No complaints whatsoever from me but then again, I always like trying new things. It's been ROCK SOLID running my Dell XPS 8940 desktop.
