what exactly is it that is wrong wrong dates messing up your hard earned trophies?

Read the topic it's been explained about 3/4 times, and there's nothing wrong with your trophies, login to the playstation website and you'll see them all fine.

So it's already the 2nd in Asia/Europe. Any reports on the problem being fixed there?

Last time I'm explaining it, it's to do with the internal clock on the fat PS3s, it's still reading today as February. Slim PS3s are working fine, most likely because they've been assembled later and with different hardware.

It's essentially a "leap year bug", belief is once we get to 12am GMT time, Sony servers and PS3s will tick over and sync up as it being March.

None of your trophies are lost, regardless of what any of the fat PS3s are telling you.

It's only 9:05 PM GMT. Few more hours left until we know.

Yup, the fact that resetting the CMOS in the fat PS3 fixes the issue pretty much confirms this should work, although Sony do recommend against that.

All,

Please note that I am now out of the office until 10AM tomorrow morning.

I'm concerned that some of you are considering removing the internal battery from your PlayStation 3 system. Please do not do this -you risk damaging your console and voiding your warranty, both of which really are not worth it for the sake of a few hours.

Our previous advice still stands: We hope to have the problem solved within 24 hours (about 21 now, if you've been counting 16x16_smiley-tongue.gif) and you should avoid using your console until then.

I have given my phone number out to everyone who will be "in the know" about further updates on this issue. Our teams across SCE are working flat-out to fix the problem for you. Should anything come through, either myself or one of the moderators on shift tonight will post the update for you.

I'll also be jumping on and checking PSN tonight from midnight with my own console, just in case 16x16_smiley-wink.gif I'll let you know the results.

As an aside - thank you all for your patience today. I appreciate that it has been frustrating and I am thankful to all of you for keeping the forum tidy and insult free!

Much love to all - MB

This feels like some Hollywood movie. Wait and watch the clock to see if it works.

Shame I own a slim, but I'm still coming back at 12am for the show :p

I think this topic at least proves one thing, supposedly "hardly anyone plays the PS3", but we get 24-48 hours of downtime and the internet is having a meltdown

Apparently there is a chance that trophies can/could be corrupt for those that didn't transfer during the downtime. We won't find out until this is resolved.

I hope the ending isn't a disappointment; I hate bad endings.

Blah. People have no clue. I just recruited three people recently. We're going to have quite the BFBC2 squad.

This. Since trophies are timestamped, the date/time change may cause them to corrupt.

Oh that'd be hilarious, just the sheer drama would be worth its weight in gold.

Yeah, Corris would have to go back and play Hannah Montana again.

Honestly, I forget about the trophies. I think my trophies have been synced recently, but it wouldn't bother me if I lost a few. Sony may have to hire a riot squad though.
