Welcome back fatties, 24 hours of downtime, I still expect 3 months of free PSN and Calling all Cars in compensation.

For people missing trophies - Start the game so you create a Trophy data set on your PS3, and then sync with the server. Thought I lost my Heavy Rain platinum, but after starting the game, quitting, and then syncing my trophies they came back.

OMG this downtime made the front cover of the metro (UK newspaper) LOL

Proof - http://news.sky.com/..._March_2nd_2010

Publicity stunt followed by headline of "24 hour turnaround for a fix, Sony care about consumers" ?

By the time the paper hits tomorrow it's completely irrelevant :p

Ahhahah I am off into town tomorrow, may try and pick one up. Worth having a good laugh at.

Talk about a slow news day.

Pre-emptive piece for a follow up in case this was the next RROD. Metro failed.

I honestly only noticed it because I was up late watching Spartacus and noticed the time was weird. Hehe I haven't playing anything for a few weeks now.

I emailed a friend of mine at work that has a PS3 today, and his reply:

"ok well all i really use mine for any more is to watch blu-ray movies."

LOL.I guess that is common too!

Meanwhile, in a courtroom within the Nintendo DS realm...

vfcp6r.jpg

"So, it seems that the inpenetrable Playstation 3 console has fallen in defeat! Thousands upon thousands of consoles have been fallen victim to a bug in its system."

or3x9v.jpg

"NGH! IT CAN'T BE!"

292tfep.jpg

"The evidence is all there, Wright. It doesn't look like there's a fix coming for this, and I'm sure there will be a riot of angry gamers as a result of this bug in the Playstation 3's clock. First it couldn't tell the correct time, now it is destroying the system. So, when and how do you plan to fix this all?"

281rh4x.jpg

"Well ... erm, we ask that you do not listen to the words of certain gaming forums and mess with your system. Just wait until the timer of the PS3 reaches the next day. That'll fix the problem ... definitely! "

174943.jpg

"What the -- ARE YOU SERIOUS? And what if this doesn't work?"

281rh4x.jpg

"... Heheh, well ... I ... don't exactly know."

f36ypf.jpg

"All you PS3 owners are welcome to join the ranks of us 360 users. Looks like another victory for Microsoft!"

A few hours later...

sqjvvo.jpg

21acyep.jpg

"All clear! We've fixed the issue just like we've said! No contradictions in the testimony whatsoever!"

29qchg3.jpg

" ... Curses! Foiled again!"

You correct the date in the XMB settings yourself. The internal clock date will be fixed by Sony in a FW update at a later point. Internal clock date is pretty much useless to us, it's irrelevant to our experience, however unfortunately it's now gone and caused a bug due to manufacturing in the fat PS3s. Sony have another 4 years to fix the bug after this

I doubt anyone with a fat still has a warranty, and it's just to show it's a date related bug, it will not brick your PS3.

I bought my (2nd) fat last summer, still has warranty, plus 3-yr extended through target

So the waiting game worked

"We f**ked up, could do nothing, but hoped that it would fix itself the next day and it did. Go US!"

Huge embarassment I say :)

How come the European blog looks so much better than the American one?

At least they changed the layout of the main website.

I can go get all my Heavy Rain trophies again  Thanks Sony.

Load up Heavy Rain, exit it, then resync trophies and you'll get them back.
