Routerbad
K/9 = Strikeouts per nine innings HR/9 = Home Runs " " " BB/9 = Walks " " " H/9 = Hits " " " If i bump these up quite a bit, I assume it helps in game with these things which could give me more points to spend on pitch stats. I've been playing on All-Star and I haven't seen too many crazy pitch totals. Maybe that's the issue. Anyway, there's a slider for almost everything in this game. Adjust the contact, foul ball and patience slider to suit your needs. I've seen them chase a lot of outside pitchers, but the count was way in my favor (0-2, 1-2). I've seen them stare a lot of strikes too. I played a game last night where I struck out four guys looking. Oh, and yeah, I completely understand the frustration. I saw no patience slider. Hedon
Assuming we can play games by Tuesday, I just ordered this from Amazon. MLB09 was fantastic, although I stopped playing after my YLOD deleted by zomgawesome RTTS pitcher on his way to 15 straight wins to start his 2nd big league season. Anyway, I know some others on here played 09, are you picking up 10? I actually only ordered it because I had like $80 in amazon gift cards, plus $10 promo from my Bioshock 2 purchase, so I got MLB10 and Episodes From Liberty City combined for $8. Trophy Listing seems plat-able, much more than last year. - http://www.ps3trophi...-show/trophies/ BTW, 09 servers go down on march 17th. If anyone needs online trophies before then, lemme know, maybe we can work something out. So I was at Target again this weekend. For whatever reason some Target's have GT5 as their demo on the PS3 where I live, and the one I went to yesterday didn't. But it did have MLB The Show 10 demo (I didn't realize they had a demo of 10). The game looked and played amazing. The controls were extremely simple and made perfect sense when in use when choosing which base to throw to etc. The graphics.....just wow....EASILY the best looking game on console, EVER. The problem....I was going to download this demo again at home just to make sure I should go for the purchase. However, the comment above concerns me. soniqstylz wrote "BTW, 09 servers go down on march 17th. ". If that is true, and if MLB The Show 10's online is disabled in March of 2011, the value of the game has just dropped dramatically, pretty much in half. Why would they drop the online support so soon? Is there at least peer to peer available?
AbandonedTrolley
Move support anyone? :D
soniqstylz
Dunno about Move support, but 3D support adds a LOT to this game in terms of depth, pitching, seeing the ball, etc. I have no idea when the servers for this will go down, and no idea why they dropped the servers for 09 so quick. The times I've been online (only a few, I've been concentrating on my RTTS players) there's been quite an active online community, so we'll see. Hedon
Thanks soniqstylz. What about Roster Updates at least? Do you know if 09 for example still receives them even though the online servers are down?

Which is to be somewhat expected, I don't think even Madden gets roster updates after the season.
sbauer
Thanks soniqstylz. What about Roster Updates at least? Do you know if 09 for example still receives them even though the online servers are down? No, they don't. Roster updates are weekly for the current game only. I find the community's "full minors" rosters better anyway. Not sure if anyone maintains those for legacy games though.
Hedon
Thanks sbauer. Well, I picked the game up last night anyway, though I didn't get to play it. I also picked up Dead Rising 2 so I started playing that first

Hedon
Good lord this game is overwhelming :(. I spent about an hour and a half setting up my RTTS player. Then I went into the batting cage, on ROOKIE, and boy do I suck BAD :( This game must have the most settings and options of a console game that I have ever seen. Just try to have quality at bats. Take pitches, work the count, etc.. The CPU will exploit your strike zone recognition if you swing at everything.
