Yelreve
This afternoon I hooked up my 360 to my TV buy HDMI, but there is a problem. When put in 720p the screen has ghosting and lots of horizontal white lines whilst in other modes like 1080i (the TV doesn't support 1080p) it gets blue dots in dark areas and on the edges of object; In standard definition this doesn't happen. The TV is about 4/5 years old now so it isn't new and the blue dots may have happened with the Wii before when I used a component cable, however I presumed it was just a bad cable. Any ideas on what is wrong with it or what I can do, I have tried another HDMI cable. Thanks :)

+Warwagon MVC Posted March 1, 2010 MVC Share Posted March 1, 2010 Looks like screen artifacts to me resulting in a bad video card on the 360? By standard def you mean.... 480? Have you tried it on the different TV to rule out the TV?
Yelreve
Nah, I think the same problem was happening with the wii but I don't have it now to test it. Then I just wrote it off as a cable problem as it worked fine with the composite cable.
Yelreve
OK, I did some investigating. I found that if i put a fan behind the TV that the lines gradually disappear so I presume this is a heat problem. The TV is out of warranty so I am thinking of sticking some quiet fans inside there as the current solution is a bit loud. What do you guys think
