DTV_Janus
OK I have SBC Yahoo DSL in the Detroit area and i have two things installed for my network connection that i want to know stuff about. No i am not using any of their connection software (Enternet) just straight up MS broadband connection. ---Service : Deterministic Network Enhancer ---Service: QoS Packet Scheduler 1. what do they do 2. do i need to have them installed Thanks in advanced
MxxCon
QoS doesn't make any difference if you keep it or remove it..so keep it just in case you'll use software that support QoS. QoS is "Quality of Service". it can optionally reserve some bandwidth when QoS-aware applications request it. i don't have "Deterministic Network Enhancer" so i don't know wtf it is. morkuma
bah, qos isn't needed, ditch it, if, for some strange reason something needs it, install it again and i'm with mxx on the second one
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted June 25, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted June 25, 2003 Ditching QOS will make NO difference to your system. Only apps that need it use if. But the 2nd one is lost on me
DTV_Janus
What apps would use QoS?
morkuma
Deterministic Network Enhancer seems to be associated with dialup/dsl you might need that one seems specific to VPN (as almost all the google results have something to do with dialup/dsl and vpn)
