Kojima: MGS Peace Walker is indeed MGS5

Sorry if old. I couldn't find the search button. Saw this on a Chinese board (A9VG).

Basically he said Peace Walker was planned to be the 5th entry in the main series. The "5" we saw in last E3's MGS count down image was referring to Peace Walker.

Don't know why they removed the number "5" from the title.

One can only assume Konami wanted the big budget spent on the multiplatform game...

Probably dropped the "5" due to the platform of choice to avoid a backlash which they got anyway, as everyone wanted a fully fledged PS3 MGS. Now we probably have a Raiden Ninja Gaiden simulator.

I did not really want to start a new thread about this, but I have to say this may now take the title for the most impressive PSP game visually. And the gameplay honestly looks pretty much like classic MGS.

Anyway, Kotaku article with Eight Minutes Of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Footage

Not exactly eight minutes, but close enough. This spring, Stealth series Metal Gear Solid is coming to the PSP. It will look like this.

Series creator Hideo Kojima has called Peace Walker a "MGS5-class game", and it was later revealed that Peace Walker was going to be called Metal Gear Solid 5. Watch this gameplay clip and judge for yourself whether or not the game leaves up to it!

Looks great and will certainly be picking this up on release. As mentioned before when the original announcement of the game was made the PSP controls are less than favourable for prolonged gameplay times :(

It's quite funny for those that said that the MGS series had gone to 360 though, Kojima seems to think otherwise. Seems as though Project Raiden is just a action game spin-off.

Hrm.

I'm not too sure about it.

The last MGS game on PSP made me feel like I was fondling an oiled octopus.

Because of that, I couldn't get into it.

This looks pretty good, but I'll probably see how it turns out.
