+Mystic MVC Posted March 10, 2010 MVC Share Posted March 10, 2010 After all the Activision/IW trouble, I was sure these maps were getting delayed. I'm glad to hear otherwise (at least for the time being). :p

NoLiMiT06
If they are 400 points like the last map pack (MW 1) I will buy them...
Hedon
If these 5 maps are 400 points, I will crap myself. That would be a great price.

On release they were 1200 which is what I expect them to be this time as well.

Ridlas
The girl better be included. After all, you're paying 2/3's of the original games price just for maps!

If she can cook up a falafel sandwich and lamb brisket for a day then I'll gladly pay. It's really strange because Valve somewhat did this with L4D2 (completely different circumstances, & without a lawsuit since they own Steam) they didn't put out Maps for the original L4D and purple hurled at them like a Boomer
Chasethebase Reporter Posted March 10, 2010 Reporter Share Posted March 10, 2010 Do want Crash and Overgrown, so the PC/PS3 release date is 29th April. So much longer :(
Livin in a box
Shame I only have it on mah PS3 and I don't play MW2 anymore. I find it strange how people can pay so much for some maps....:\

Thankfully I was given some MS point cards as gifts a long while back so I'll be getting these maps for free.
Chasethebase Reporter Posted March 11, 2010 Reporter Share Posted March 11, 2010 Essentially the cost covers mostly the time put into creating, testing etc. I have bought both the Legendary and Mythic packs for Halo 3 and will be getting this. mistical
Not much creating if two of the four maps are old maps. :p There should be at least five maps coming out with the upcoming map pack. Yes, two of them are old (Overgrown and Crash) and the other three new ones are called Complex, Compact and Storm. One of the maps (forget the name at the moment) looks like a smaller map though like they did back in the Call of Duty 4 map pack called Killhouse. If they are more than five "new" maps that would be awesome. I would of rather of seen Crash (my favorite) and Bog instead of Overgrown and Crash though. Remember this is nothing new to Infinity Ward, as I am sure you know already. They have used maps already made before and touched them up a little. In Modern Warfare 2, Wasteland is actually the same map with some touch ups done as Brecourt from the first Call of Duty. Also back in Call of Duty 4 map pack they had Chinatown which was a remake of Carentan from the first Call of Duty too. Cupcakes 1 Share

Browno
The best-selling Xbox 360 game of all-time just got bigger, with more epic multiplayer content, first on Xbox LIVE! The Stimulus Package delivers 5 additional action-packed multiplayer maps featuring a variety of locations: "Bailout," a multi-level apartment complex; "Storm," an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery; "Salvage," a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars. Two legendary fan-favorites from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare return, including "Crash," a war-torn urban environment; and "Overgrown," which features a massive dry creek bed. There are no refunds for this item. For more information, see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.

So basically four maps then because if one of them is like Killhouse, it will never be played by most people (only was available in like free for all or cage match). As you guessed, I am familiar with IW's tactic of re-doing maps, but when we are paying this much money in comparison to how much the game cost, three new maps (not counting the two old ones) hardly seems to justify the price tag. That is just part of my beef with DLC this generation though.
