Motoko.
March 11, 2010 - As noted on attackofthefanboy.com, Bungie has registered for a new trademark. Filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, this trademark might not have to do with a specific videogame at all. Named Bungie Aerospace, it is vaguely listed as being associated with just about everything videogames are, including the following goods and/or services: "Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; Computer game software for personal computers and home video game consoles; Computer game software for use on mobile and cellular phones; Computer software, namely, game engine software for video game development and operation; Interactive game software; Video game software" As you may have noticed, this trademark could be for Bungie's next unannounced videogame, or it could be as far reaching as Bungie's own videogame engine which it would license out to other developers. As attackofthefanboy.com postulates, perhaps Bungie will be working on the engine that newly formed Microsoft group 343 Studios will be using to make the next Halo game not designed by Bungie. Malfunctional
Could it be some kind of cloud computing thing?
George P Global Moderator Posted March 12, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted March 12, 2010 Could it be some kind of cloud computing thing? No, if it was something like say steam, it wouldn't be worded that way. The repeating theme is "computer game software" so it sounds like the name of a game engine/tools to be sold for use on everything from PC to console to mobile from the looks of it. Yusuf M. Veteran Posted March 12, 2010 Veteran Share Posted March 12, 2010 Sounds like a multi-platform game engine to me.
Emn1ty
It is their slingshot.
George P Global Moderator Posted March 12, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted March 12, 2010 The question is, how multiplatform? Being a PC and now mostly 360 dev, I figure this engine since they added mobile phones to the mix matches well with the fact WP7s is coming, and it's ability for 3D games etc. Timing matches up well. spenser.d
Sounds to me like a portal for game/web integration ala what they have going on with Halo 3 stat tracking via bungie.net except, naturally, vastly more complex than just stats. No matter what its gonna be good  -Spenser
