Draken
I want to build a PC to play some Neverwinter Nights 2 (all maxed out) and may be Dragon Age (medium) I already have my Xbox & PS3 so I don't need anything uber-powerful. If I can run those games on those settings I'll be fine. Any recommendations? Thanks :D

Dashel
NWN2 actually is almost as demanding (if not moreso) than DA. A cheap AMD system and a 46xx ATI or better and you are good to go. Draken and dead.cell 2 Share

An intelligent response at last (Y) +1, NWN2 is a resource hog, that's why I needed some help Yup, I'll go for an Athlon X2, 4GB ddr2 and a Radeon Hd 5670, everything for $ 490 ;)
bob_c_b
Dragon Age shows up to a 75% increase in frame rates with a quad core, I'd also vote for the AMD system if price is an issue, but get a Propus X4 ($99) and a 5750 will have longer legs if you don't want to upgrade soon. Draken
quoted from Gamespot: Just upgraded to an HD4870 because my 4850 can't run this game at max settings, 1680x1050, 8x AA. Hopefully the 1GB 4870 will be able to handle it with minimal lag outdoors. Here is this 2.5 year old game that won't run at max on a pretty sweet video card, although I will say the game still looks great by today's standards when maxed, especially in the dungeons. dead.cell
Whatever you decide to go with, I'd suggest ensuring that you can add a quad-core later on, if you decide to stick with dual core for now. At least this way, you can ensure you'll have something to step up to in the future and you won't find yourself having to build a totally new system later on. It's what I did at least. Will probably get a quad-core soon enough. :)
Dashel
I can run NWN2 on SLI x1950s (tad faster than a single 4650) @1440 and my 4850 @1650. You don't need 60fps min, 30-40 is perfectly playable imo.
