George P Global Moderator Posted March 27, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted March 27, 2010 loved the original probably my top game of all time :D sequel was not as good but still a good game and the ending is a real wtf :| cant wait for the 3rd part of the story :woot: I'm thinking that, story wise, with the ending in the 2nd showing what it shows, and the profile on FB (if it's real) talking about "accepting it", I think it's a safe bet as to what the "it" is. That's if this is real anyways. So it's looking good that you'll be back as the PM in the 3rd, I mean, who else can end it if not the PM? Hell it wouldn't surprise me if they gave you some more crazy mental powers of your own to level things vs Alma. That'd also add some new gameplay aside from the whole slowmo gunplay. Why? Also, why isn't Monolith Studio's making this. They made the previous two and although "2" wasn't as good as the first one they shouldn't be canned from the job. :/
Ayepecks
Day 1's only releases have been the port of F.E.A.R. to the 360 and PS3 and the mediocre Fracture and Mech Assault 2. I don't know what Monolith is developing, but gahhh! I guess it's kinda cool John Carpenter is helping... but I don't have faith in the developer. George P Global Moderator Posted April 9, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted April 9, 2010 I'm still interested, even more now that I know the POINT MAN IS BACK! Dev aside I want the next chapter in the story if you will. If they give the PM some new abilities that'd be great as well.

.KICK
I liked FEAR. FEAR 2 was okay but it wasn't even scary and short. I hope they go back to the scariness of the first game for the third one and make it longer!
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 9, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted April 9, 2010 Hope this is better than FEAR 2, that game was terrible, I couldn't even finish it. It was about as generic as they come. I quite enjoyed the first one at the time, done some things really well.

If I hadn't then I probably wouldn't had forced myself to finish it!
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted April 9, 2010 Veteran Share Posted April 9, 2010 I was looking forward to this because I enjoyed F.E.A.R. and F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. Now that I found out that Monolith won't be making it, I guess I'll skip this one until it peaks my interest again.
Ayepecks
Live action trailer featuring gameplay as well: http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/54882/F-E-A-R-3-Live-Action-Trailer Looks rather generic so far, but it's early... so I'll hold out hope. George P Global Moderator Posted May 19, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted May 19, 2010 It looks like you might have some more powers, i'm sure the good old bullet time bit will be there, but I think we could get one or two more. And Paxton is on your side now? That's how it seems, dunno why but it should be interesting. Also seems the action is faster this time around. It should still just be bullet time AFAIK. Paxton is a co-op partner... he's not really on your "side", you two just have a similar goal of stopping Alma. Doli
Come on Monolith, No One Lives Forever 3 and SHOGO: Mobile Armor Division 2  Pretty please, with sugar on top, and a cherry.
JonathanVP
I thought Fear and Fear 2 were great even though it got very tiresome wandering through office buildings and such. This and Deadspace 2 would definitely be an awsome experience! The FPS Sci Fi Horror Genre is still alive and kicking!
JoseyWales
here's Alma! it looks to be on par with the first one. i'll be buying it for sure.
Ayepecks
I don't understand the story anymore. Can anyone fill me in with whats going on? Alma is pregnant. You and Fettel are trying to stop her. @ Doli: Day 1 Studios is developing, Monolith is just producing.

Well, sure, I can't point to something specific but I think they'll add something into the mix. Bullet-time alone as a gameplay element won't help the game stand out compared to the original or 2nd. And how the heck are you going to stop Alma with just bullet-time? It'd make a bit more sense if point-man had some sort of "awakening" and grew more powerful like Paxton was/is, etc. Maybe it's just me hoping for more, but something fresh added to it can really help. The divergent co-op is supposed to help the gameplay stand out. And there is going to be first-person cover as well. We'll see how that goes over, though.
