SidVicious
:woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: After a stream of Shin Megami Tensei titles outside of the Persona series, Atlus developer Katsura Hashino has finally confirmed development on Persona 5. In a recent interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, Hashino said, ?I want to add things that are being expected of the series. I also want to change things that can be changed within those boundaries.? Hashino, the director and producer for Persona 3 and 4 respectively, has not revealed for what console the new title will be released. The most recent installment, Persona 4, was released in 2008 for the PlayStation 2. However, the PlayStation 3 and PSP are both likely candidates for the upcoming title. CelticWhisper
I vote Wii. Make players hold the Wiimote to their head and shout "PERSONA!" before pulling the B trigger. If they lack conviction, THE GAME KILLS THEM FOR REAL.
slyph
I'm sick of big name games, especially RPGs going to portable consoles. Valkryia Chronicles 2 being on PSP, FF Dissida (I know not an RPG), the Lunar remake. I sure hope this goes to PS3 and not the damn PSP (even though I own one) I believe portable gaming consoles should only ever have ports of true console games, never exclusives or original content. CelticWhisper
I wouldn't agree that portables should never get exclusives or original content, but I would definitely say that established home-console series should never have major installments on portables. Parasite Eve 3 coming to mobile phones is a prime example of what not to ever do under any circumstances. On the flipside, Pokemon has always been a portable franchise so I would say it's fine for it to continue on portables, since it's not upsetting the established formula. Spinoffs, "gaiden" games, and ports are fine when it comes to console series presence on handhelds but to release, say, Final Fantasy 15 on the PSP only would be...less than desirable. NES, SNES, PSX, PS2, PS3, X360, PSP...sing it with me, folks. "One of these things is not like the other..."

I definitely get a little frustrated when games in a series get portable installments (Portable Ops, Chains of Olympus, Chain of Memories, etc.), since it's a potentially big chunk of the storyline that I'll be missing out on. But I don't have a problem with portable systems having original content. The World Ends With You is one of the best games I've played in recent memory, on any system, portable or otherwise. Sorry about the thread hijack, but I just wanted to say my piece :).
