Website Feedback - Weatherbird Band

Question

Hi there

I've just designed a band a website for them.

It's nearing completion in terms of the design and what's included.

But was wondering what you think so far?

Just to let you know, the "the band" page will have biographies of the band members included soon as it is bare at the moment.

www.weatherbird.tk

Also feel free to listen to some of the tracks while your at it :)

+1 Feedback on posts whether they are good reviews or not.

Thanks

Jordan

It looks like a very good site, but does so much of it have to be in flash? Isnt very good for accessibility.

Also the text on the Weatherbird logo is quite hard to read for some reason.

But still the site is very good and I also like their music aswell which is a plus :p

Thanks for the reply :)

As for being in Flash, it's due to the site builder so I cannot change it to be HTML, sorry :( - but most band sites are flash though as far as I know?

Ohh, the logo is supposed to be how it is - sort of eroded effect to go with their genre :)

and I will pass it on to them that you like their music too :)

+1 feedback on post will be given too.

It looks like it was generated. Although of all the website generators out there this one seems to be ok.

Thank you :)

Agreed.

Not the biggest fan of Flash, so to have the website 100% Flash driven is a big no no imo, especially when it's not needed, there are hundreds of free web hosts that offer good uptime, no forced ads or popups and have a great community to go along with it.

You could achieve a better, more professional looking website using simple XHTML and CSS imo, and keeping Flash to handle the music player alone.

Hi Tom, I used Moonfruit to produce the website.

I thought this would make it easier for the band to manage the website themselves without the need of asking me everytime they wish to edit as the site builder is straight-forward.

It's ad-free of course, but the advert on the side is my own Google AdSense account for revenue :)

But thank you for the feedback.

+1 too

That's fair enough, I suppose it would get rather annoying having the band ask you to update the website for them all the time :D

Yeah, so it makes it much easier on my workload and then also they don't need experience of HTML, CSS etc. as it is a friendly site builder which includes clicking text boxes and typing :D

The gigs calendar is a feature I liked as they can add the events themselves too with options for images, location etc.

There is a HTML version available for non-flash users, but the way it's converted is not that good, but at least it can be accessed in some way - even if it doesn't look as nice as the Flash version :)
