Minina
Hi!!!! I have Win 2000 Pro and some weeks ago I found several trojans in my computer (among them MUMU and VALLA). I had NAV corporate and after that event, I switched to AVG. Anyway, after that day virus alert messages kept appearing and couldn't stop it, even though I used the synmantec tool, Panda AV online, scanning from safe mode, etc etc. I found a lot more trojans with Ad-aware, too. Now, since 2 days ago my pc is very slow and many times I get windows registry error from net.exe and sometimes mumu.exe and the variants. Also, when I go to Windows Task manager, under the Processes tab, I see about 20 net.exe and cmd.exe on the list. I tried closing them, but the task manager wont' let me, and soon the two .exe files have used up all my memory and I've to restart my computer. I really don't want to format my computer again (I did it 2 months ago). Please, help me save my computer and kill the trojans for once. By the way, I found net.exe in winnt/system32. Can I delet it? Or is it an important file?

Minina
I downloaded TDS-3 and it worked!!! I have tried several anti-trojan programs and none of them had been able to detect anything. I still am paranoid though, how do I know if I am done with trojans? Anyway, thanks very much for the help!!!!!!!!!!!
mAcOdIn Veteran Posted July 3, 2003 Veteran Share Posted July 3, 2003 Well you'll never "know". Only way to know for sure is a good format. There could always be a trojan that you have that possibly isn't in the definition file for the program. But glad it worked for ya.
