Odom Member Posted March 29, 2010 Member Share Posted March 29, 2010 Hi, I noticed this ever since Neowin moved to the new look, I seem to have issue with logging in to the website. I used to be able to log into Neowin, and wherever I go or click or browse, I would remain logged in. I can go back to the homepage, back to the forums, etc..., shut PC down, then turn on and go back to Neowin (always open in a tab) and I would always be logged on. I'm only posting now, as I noticed the following issue on any PC I go to, be it IE or Firefox as well. Whenever I am logged in to Neowin, in any part of the site, and I click on the big Neowin.net logo at the top left, I get back to the homepage and am always logged off. When I log in, I get automatically to the forum. When I want to go back to the homepage to read the news and click the Neowin logo, I'm on the homepage, but logged off again. I tried with all security settings disabled, enabled, cookies on or off, multiple PC's (home, work, friends) and in IE and Firefox, even if ticking "Leave me logged in" and "Remember me", and I notice this issue everywhere. Is this just me, or is this happening to others as well? Regards, Odom
Steven P. Administrators Posted March 29, 2010 Administrators Share Posted March 29, 2010 Doesn't happen for me, what about if you click the "News" tab instead of the logo? The URL's are correct, in fact the only difference is the Forum tab, on main its https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php'>https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php and on the forums it's https://www.neowin.net/forum/index I have bugged it too because both nav bars aren't the same. +jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted March 29, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted March 29, 2010 I would also make sure that you're browsing https://www.neowin.net/ and not http://neowin.net/. Not sure how the site is set up in that respect but it's just something else to double-check.
x-byte
Remove your cookies for Neowin.net (and forum) and then log in again. Always worked for me.

Odom Member Posted April 1, 2010 Author Member Share Posted April 1, 2010 Many thanks for your replies. I have to agree, shouting Jumba Jumba Jumba also worked for me. Strangely enough, since about 2 days ago I am no longer experiencing this issue, even though I haven't changed any settings on any machines. Must have been a gremlin in the system.... :)
