nekrosoft13 Posted December 26, 2001 Share Posted December 26, 2001 i just used a new nero tool called nero info tool http://www.cdspeed2000.com/files/NeroInfoTool_100.zip and it told me that on my primary ide channel my master hard drive has dma on and my slave has dma off. how can i turn it on? Sub Posted December 27, 2001 Share Posted December 27, 2001 Well in an IDE setup, if you have a master HD and a slave HD, only the master will be using its drive controller to control both hard drives. So therefore it will show the slave as having no drive controller, therefore no DMA. Your computer is ok. Spelling, was half asleep when I wrote that, : Technically if you want to have faster transfer between both drives, put the one drive on the Primary IDE CHannel and the other on the secondary.
