Gary2MBz
I tried installing 10.5.9 on mine and while I didn't get it to work at first, I finally got it after 4 tries. It worked like a regular MacBook Pro but slight problems were that the stupid Chameleon BootLoader somehow messed up Windows 7 making it say "No Boot Sector was found. Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to restart" or something along the lines of that but only the Mac working. Another problem I faced was when opening software update and installing iTunes 9 with quicktime and Safari 4, after rebooting it would simply freeze on the Apple gray loading screen. 3rd issue was that I could not read Blu-Ray discs which is to be expected anyways. Finally, the optical drive would randomly power test or spin up at random in the Mac environment without a disc in there either. Talk about being a hassle and short of weird. Gary2MBz
Shaun, yes that was it I made a typo. lilsnoop40, Your specs are not too different from a MacBook Pro. i forgot to mention also, HDMI out WILL NOT WORK, VGA I never tested. Intel WiFi chips such as the 5xxx/6xxx don't work at all. Atheros 5008/5009 are what the Macbooks have so if you have any of those it will work natively. 0nyX
thanks, i am trying to figure out if i can do it and if the specs are ok.. and how to do it thansk Before attempting dual booting you should make sure your pc can run OSX86 and the only way for this is try a clean install. After this if you successfully boot into osx you will start searching kexts for your devices and see what works and what not.If the OS works on a good state and is stable (no kernel panics etc) after using it for some days (installing apps, surf the net, etc) then you take notes of what you installed, how you installed it and start all over again and this time for dual boot. A quick look on your hardware indicates you won't face any difficulties especially if you use a patched distro (howvere i stronlgy recommend retail). Gary2MBz
His setup is fine but some of the extra features will not be there because there have not been any KEXTs out yet such as an Intel WiFi Link 5300/5100, HDMI Out, and maybe even the expresscard slot. Wired internet works without a hitch and Safari 4 for Mac is hundreds better than the junk we have for Windows.
