hjf288
For the people complaining about not multitasking on older hardware...I'm sure they'll find a way to do it if you jailbreak it They already do its called backgrounder :p

Elliott
I was hoping for new UI and Unified Notifications, guess they need something for OS 5.0 Yea, I was hoping for unified notifications too. :( I didn't care about a new UI, though. The current UI works well, and the addition of folders will help organize. Creating a new UI basically just makes people learn new things, and if the current UI works well, why change it? Elliott
The iPhone's UI needs to be updated to match the iPad's UI. What about the iPad's UI though? I guess you're talking about the "light metal" look. That would be nice, but it's a very minor change.
Stetson
From Gizmodo's liveblog: Q: Why have you veered away from widgets on the iPad?A: We just shipped it on Saturday. And then we rested on Sunday. Q: So widgets are possible? A: Everything is possible.

I'll be pretty ****ed if they just show up though :/

Why can't we have full consistency between the 2 different platforms?
+KibosJ Subscriber² Posted April 8, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted April 8, 2010 WOW. Looks like i'm getting an Android Haha :D Suppose it's reason enough ;) Yep. Although it isn't a minor change. Many apps would be updated to this new UI. Why can't we have full consistency between the 2 different platforms? It is going to suck to have mismatched UIs across the different products. The iPad isn't getting the new OS until fall though. Where is the logic in that?
Hell-In-A-Handbasket
from what was shown, they are full screen and appear before the app is running, and after the app is closed. yea my iPad is being jailbroken if not cancled Engadget article on iAd *Edit, added URL They better not just pop up full screen, they should be hidden at the bottom like they are now, if you so wish to click on them then fair enough. Vice
From the way the iAd's look, they are small just like the current ads we see. And then when you click on them it expands to full screen and becomes interactive. I thought everyone saw that from this: Which then expanded in to this when clicked:

True I suppose, does this mean when they introduce an 'iPad only' NEW feature we start to get mismatched versions? I'm not really sure how Apple's updates work, will they update the OS for all devices? From the way the iAd's look, they are small just like the current ads we see. And then when you click on them it expands to full screen and becomes interactive. acnpt
Some interesting questions were asked... Q: How do you close applications when multitasking? A: (Scott) You don't have to. The user just uses things and doesn't ever have to worry about it. (Steve) It's like we said on the iPad, if you see a stylus, they blew it. In multitasking, if you see a task manager... they blew it. Users shouldn't ever have to think about it. I'm actually excited about those iAds, if they are all going to be interactive/interesting....much better than the current situation. I'd want to watch a movie trailer, or something by Nike(remember Nike football) than those current advertising junk bars.
