Jan Veteran Posted April 7, 2010 Veteran Share Posted April 7, 2010 If what that blog says is true then Activision are very angry I would love to see a MW3, the story was great just too short. I didn't like the multiplayer, BBC2 totally owns it.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted April 7, 2010 Veteran Share Posted April 7, 2010 But who the **** is he? Why should we listen to what he's saying? What's his source about IW's behaviour during the MW2 development?
PreKe
But who the **** is he? Why should we listen to what he's saying? Who cares who he is? What matters is what he writes. You should listen to what he's saying because he has a unique perspective on things, and he eats those lame and ignorant "game industry analysts" for breakfast. Ayepecks
Really? Says who? No way! He injects his opinions in blog posts in his personal blog! If you can't tell the difference between a private hobbyist blog and gaming journalism, we have a serious problem on our hands! Where's the hypocrisy? He's not a journalist. He doesn't claim to be. In fact, he makes it perfectly clear that he's using his personal blog to post his personal opinions. Kotaku = blog Joystiq = blog Engadget = blog Gizmodo = blog The only difference is that his blog is his own little private blog. If you can't comprehend that, we have a serious problem on our hands! Also: The sites I just mentioned are not the traditional forms of "journalists", and they are the individuals who he is referring to when he says video game journalists. What you title yourself doesn't mean you get a free pass to be a hypocrite. I'm starting to think this is your blog, since you seem to be getting so bent out of shape over people disagreeing with this guy. Who cares who he is? What matters is what he writes. Says who?" when a video game blogger writes it, but when this random blogger who no one even knows writes it, it's the holy grail?

PreKe
It matters what he writes only when he has some credibility. He's the guy who predicted how "this generation" would turn out. He's the guy who predicted things like Super Mario Galaxy not being a system seller, whereas a 2D Mario would be (which turned out to be true). The articles on his site, as they are mostly from early on in "this generation". Then read his blog and notice how his predictions mostly come true. Also notice how he exposes "gaming journalists" for the hacks that they are. Kotaku = blogJoystiq = blog Engadget = blog Gizmodo = blog The only difference is that his blog is his own little private blog. If you can't comprehend that, we have a serious problem on our hands! Indeed, it's his own little private blog. On the other hand, the sites you mention are professional ones with "journalists". They are supposed to be "credible". I'm starting to think this is your blog, since you seem to be getting so bent out of shape over people disagreeing with this guy. It's not my blog, and I'm not getting bent out of shape. The fact is that I haven't seen any actual disagreement, just outright rejection without any further explanation. I call it denial. No one has been able to respond to anything the guy writes. So it's "Really? Says who?" when a video game blogger writes it, but when this random blogger who no one even knows writes it, it's the holy grail? No, really. Who says this, and where? PreKe
Yeah me too. "I can't respond to the actual arguments in the blog, so I'll attack the guy who links to it instead." Quite pathetic, really.
Spookie
It's not my blog, and I'm not getting bent out of shape. Really? You're attacking all of the regulars on the board who call the blog out for not having credible sources and being little more than someone's opinion. Quite pathetic, really. Articles? Only one of them actually has anything to do with the subject at hand in this topic. I'm not about to start bringing up a discussion of "hardcore vs casual" gamers. Which btw I did read & it was veryyyyy skewed on it's perspective. Your favourite author needs some work on the ol' debate skills. And like I've said, unless we know who he is or what his sources are, I'm not even going to waste my time talking about the IW stuff he has to say. You're attacking all of the regulars on the board who call the blog out for not having credible sources and being little more than someone's opinion. I'm not attacking anyone. I'm pointing out that the guy has a unique perspective on things, and has been around for a long time and has made predictions about the market that have come true. Sources for what? Of course someone who still buys into the whole hardcore bull**** is going to think his views are very skewed. But for the rest of the world, you are the one with the skewed views, as his arguments show. And like I've said, unless we know who he is or what his sources are, I'm not even going to waste my time talking about the IW stuff he has to say. Sources for what exactly? If you want to know who he is, just use Google. Bottom line: You can't handle his arguments, so you reject what he writes out of hand. He makes you feel uncomfortable because you know he has a point. So you attack him rather than his arguments. Again: Pathetic.

Sikh
I notice that Spookie is still avoiding the actual discussion. He couldn't even explain what he needed sources for. Again: Pathetic. For everything the man claims to know. Like many have said, he's posting info that would be strictly confidential info, but yet you say he's "predicted" it. bull****. I call bull**** on so many levels its not even funny. Just because spookie pointed out you attacking people after saying you arent is PATHETIC. Quit attacking people and stay on topic. Im starting to believe this guy is the equivalence to god for you. If he is well you sir have fun with that. We all in the real world will know whats up. The fact of the matter is, activision is full of bull**** tactics. Making a PC Game $60, removing all the essential PC Features, firing the 2 heads of the Developing Company. Need I go on? On top of that, they have also tainted Starcraft 2 and many more games to come. Activsion was bad alone, now that its Activision-Blizzard its gonna be a pile of crap for us PC games. Why don't you address the arguments in the blog instead of attacking the guy? The fact of the matter is, activision is full of bull**** tactics. Apparently not in this case. On a slight tangent- Blogs: The new "Yellow Journalism". Crux of my issue is this. With no source or name. There is absolutely no fallout or repercussions for anything he says. I can start a website calling various mods & admins at Neowin, neonazis (see what I did thar! ;D). Now this would be completely incorrect and morally wrong. But you'd still find people like your self impressed by a few fancy words looking to grind an axe taking it as gospel. Happy now? KnightWolf
im almost sure the whole IW team is going to Respawn (kinda the way 2015 went to IW), just wondering if there is a non-compete clause in their IW contracts... also, for the ones counting in the royalties from MW2 it sucks bad, and even if West and Zampella are millionaires they should still be paid for the work they have done
