On OS X, the option key allows you to type in extra characters that are not normal for your keyboard (some greek letters and letters included in the spanish alphabet. So to type ? you press option+shift+/ = ? For ? you type option + 1 = ? ?,?,?,? = option+e followed by vowel to place accent over ? = option + n followed by n (i'm guessing you can place the tilde on other letters) = option + shift + k if you want to know the others, open keyboard viewer (spotlight it and enable it through system prefs) Or you can just play around and press option + something to see what happens. There are words in Spanish that could be put into the same place grammatically but, with an accent over a letter, mean something totally different. Just take AMD60305's advice. That being said, you can still get it to do some proofreading and spellchecking for you (such as let you know when you have a mismatched ¿? or ¡! pair).
