DirtyLarry Veteran Posted April 10, 2010 Veteran Share Posted April 10, 2010 Kotaku Konami rebirths another of its 8-bit classics?admittedly, we may be a little fast and loose with that accolade?revealing an update to its 1985 side-scrolling stab-a-thon Rush'n Attack, currently in the works for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Known as Rush'n Attack Ex-Patriot, the side-scrolling arcadey throwback is planned to hit the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3's respective digital distribution networks sometime this fall. It's in development at Czech studio Vatra Games, the same developers chugging away at a new Silent Hill game for the 360/PS3. Rush'n Attack Ex-Patriot will let players slice and shoot their way through a Siberian prison complex, a bio-weapons laboratory and a nuclear weapons base, all the while "armed with a little more than a knife." Yes. If knifing Russians sounds like something you'd be into and have never played the arcade or NES releases of Rush'n Attack, you can always grab the Xbox Live Arcade port of the 1985 version. With Rocket Knight and Rush'n Attack updates coming this year, what should Konami revive next? Jackal, maybe? First screens of Rush'n Attack Ex-Patriot below. Some of you may know Rush'N Attack as Green Beret, some of you may not know it at all as it is quite old. With that said, it was a HARD game when I played it as a kid, and I am pretty positive I never beat it as I just did not care. Bit visuals look pretty darn good, of course people are comparing it to Shadow Complex because it is a 3D Side Scroller, but I do not think it is going to get that deep with the game-play at all. ThePokedPenguin
Wow, I had Green Beret on the ZX Spectrum! I loved that game but like you say, it was incredibly hard, i dont think I ever got past the 2nd mission. And yes I`m that old :)
Massiveterra
I wonder if we'll ever get an HD remix of Contra or Castlevania
