Spookie
Ah apparently the reason this game isn't getting much shelf space is: Activision ****ed off all the retailers by trying to get them all to charge RRP (?50). Nice. But I'm sure they'll be grovelling come the release of Ca(ll)sual of Duty?

But I'm sure they'll be grovelling come the release of Ca(ll)sual of Duty? Oh screw you Activision, this game is already a love it or hate it kind of game, doesn't need further issues to dent its sales! :( Anyone else picked up this game? It is ?34.99 @ GameGears.co.uk, can't remember how much 800 points is. Or it is ?32 at Tesco with the 15% off code.

PGHammer
I enjoy Blur more than S/S: Carrying over SP unlocks for MP? Be right back. SETTING SAIL FOR FAIL. Why choose? (Yes; I'm completely serious.) Split/Second and Blur (yeah; I have both, and in their full PC versions) are different in execution, though somewhat similar in style. They are very much different *horses* for different courses, so buying both is not exactly a stretch. The one big thing is that neither compromises for widescreen/FP displays, thanks largely to their console roots. One thing I can actually thank the consoles for is better support for the widescreen formats, even those utterly alien to consoles (how many consoles support 1440x900, for example). This is the sort of game the PC has been sorely lacking since Carmageddon 2 and Wipeout XL/2047 went away (at least the consoles had the Burnout series and PGR) If there is one thing that may force *one or the other*, it's price. Both titles are priced as AA ($40 for the PC at retail); however, both games have lower pricing in digital distribution (Split/Second uses Direct2Drive, while Blur uses Steam). Meanwhile, let me get back to "City Slickers" (Kahn's challenges in Blur).
Sikh
Sikh im on PC. dont get it for the PC.. ur gona regret. u cant remap the gamepad or the keyboard.. and the worst part? it didnt even detect my gamepad.. :( every other game does... nfs shift, grid, dirt 2, split second.. Blur is the worst port of any game for PC.. worse than GTA4 I've never mapped a game with my gsmepad I've always done it the other way around. Mapped my game pad to fit the game. I have a logitrch rumblepad 2. Kickass gamepad and the software it comes with let's me create a profile for a specific game and map gamepad keys according to game. So I never touch the game settings. But it is sad that they won't let you edit it. I plan on getting it Monday, don't like it I'll tale it back to work and get the 360 copy. But thanks for the heads up. Might just get split second for PC.
PGHammer
I really don't like this game. It's just Re-volt with real cars. Also a bad port, controls are crappy, etc. Split Second is way more fun than this. Ah; let me guess...you'd rather use a racing wheel. The biggest complaint about Blur (all platforms) is the lousy racing-wheel support. (For the sake of honest, because I play both games on the PC, and with the keyboard, it's not an issue. Further, despite the issue some have with Blur's default layout, it suits me just fine.) Quite frankly, I *don't* prefer one game over the other, as they are different in execution (while similar in style); they are different enough where it's more a mood I have to be in to play one over the other (however, I play them both equally, and I'm doing the single-player in both for now). Finally; this sort of game has not been even on the PC since the Carmageddon series (and Wipeout XL/2047); instead, they have pretty much *been* console-exclusive (the first three Burnout games are a prime example). PGHammer
Ill be getting Blur for PC, cheaper and my gamepads gonna be coming back again. Althou I believe racing games stay console, I have a very nice gamepad that has lost its black to dust, time to break it out. Getting blur for $28 for PC. Anyone on PC? I have Blur for PC; however, I'm slogging through the single-player campaign for now. In addition to online multiplayer and split-screen (a surprise shared with Split/Second), both games support LAN multiplayer (even better, copy-protection is limited to having the disc in the drive for MP play, except online MP, in Blur's case). I have S/S as well, and in both, I'm slogging through the single-player campaign, (If you remember the EA NFS series (specifically, Underground 1 and 2), you *will* recognize the voiceover in Blur. Not merely possible or probable, but certain.)
PGHammer
is this out on the PC?? sorry my bad.. just notice its may.. i thought it was march.. Yes; it came out Tuesday in NA for PS3/XB360/PC (both retail and via Steam). UNfortunately, no PC demo version of Blur yet. The single-player campaign is actually a rather fun slog in Blur; those passing on it (PC version) shouldn't. (You wouldn't pass up single-player in an FPS, would you?) Those comparing Blur to Mario Kart are absolutely wrong; the ancestor (direct) of Blur predates Mario Kart by a few years, and it was PC-exclusive to boot - or have we forgotten about Interstate '76 (and the sequel, Interstate '82)? If anything, Mario Kart was inspired by Interstate '76 (and Wipeout 1/2/3; only the last was console-exclusive).

ARG! :( Correct, they chose only to support Xinput. I think you're going to see this more often in the future. It's better to just get an Xinput compatible controller. .KICK
I have to say, if you have a choice between PC, PS3 or Xbox 360. I would go with the Xbox 360 because there is the most people online and it already looks pretty damn good on that and performs very well! (Posted Digital Foundry stuff couple pages back). Also, using a controller for racing game is a no brainer. Been playing more with Spookie and Pheee, it is so much fun when playing with friends. Progressing through the ranks gives you more awesome cars and mods. Some of the tracks in this game are awesome, my only gripe is that it had more motor mash tracks although the current ones are pretty good too. Some insane moments just make you go :woot:

It would be good to have daily challenges that change, or maybe weekly challenges. All in all, very fun game, and enjoy it with friends. .KICK im catching you up, then Spookie :p
Redacted
I played the demo when it came out, have to say, it wasn't really my taste. I don't know, When I saw information/video about the game pre-trailer I was really eager to play it, even setting aside some money to preorder it. When it came to actually playing it however I just felt like I was being rushed through this crazy game in which I didn't really know what I was doing and explosions and flashing lights etc etc were surrounding me. I know that's the point of this game, but I just didn't think it would of been so "intense". I think I will have to re-download/purchase the game sometime and try and give it another shot though :D

In other words, Motor Mash is awesome. :D I hope we get some nice DLC too. :)
