sicburns
I was wondering if people switched to Windows 7 on their Mac. The only thing i use Win7 on my Mac for is my VB training software. Just wondering

Elliott
Nope. I use Snow Leopard and run Windows 7 in VMware for when I need it. No way am I switching to Windows 7 full time. :p

crazzyyfool
I have W7U installed natively though I don't spend a lot of time there. About 5% Win, 95% OSX.
PaulCabby
Nope. Haha, especially with a setup as godlike as yours, theres no need to! :p Your dedicated Windows box/Mac

amon91
Yup, on VirtualBox. I use it for running Windows software occasionally, which is only like once a month.
+John. Subscriber¹ Posted April 12, 2010 Subscriber¹ Share Posted April 12, 2010 It's on there on BootCamp, but only for legacy games when I get the urge.
Hot
I run it on Parallels and VMware for testing websites. No urge what so ever to turn it on otherwise.
JoeyF
Nope. I only run XP on it in Boot Camp. I want to run Windows 7, but that requires you to install 10.6, and I don't want to invest the $30. I hardly use the Mac OS side anymore for anything beyond firmware updates, so.....
Snakehn
i have it on bootcamp, only use it for windows live messenger with webcam, other than that, i have no use for it.
Migra
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my MBP 13" on BootCamp, precisely because I'm a Visual Basic .NET & SQL developer and it works great! If you plan to install it as Virtual Machine runs fine as long as you don't use any of the components out there (i.e. devexpress) because on Virtual it's so slow! Binary
I just booted into Windows 7 the other day after months of not using it - only to use some free tax software; cause I'm too cheap to pay for any of the native Mac software titles :D
Shadrack
I have Windows 7 installed and I rarely boot it. Only thing on there that I sometimes need is MathCAD. I've read that MathCAD works with Wine...I wonder if it works with Wine for Mac...hrmmm... thats worth looking into so I can reclaim some disk space. I work in Windows all day. I like using the Mac OS X for my personal stuff at home. Its a nice change.
russellc
Did, but got rid of it because I never used it anyway. I just use my PC for Windows.
SpikePringlesBro
I have Win7 Ultimate bootcamped on my 13" MBP. I use it to play L4D2 and CS:S as I don't have a pc.
LingeringSoul
I have W7U installed natively though I don't spend a lot of time there. About 5% Win, 95% OSX. Same here. In fact, since I'm using Parallels (with an XP virtual machine), the only times I ever boot into Windows 7 on my Mac is when I feel the need to play a game (i.e. something I can't do in Parallels or OS X). I mostly just put Windows 7 on my Boot Camp partition to see what it's like. I never planned on incorporating it into my workflow.

+virtorio MVC Posted April 17, 2010 MVC Share Posted April 17, 2010 Yes, with Parallels. It runs the entire time my Mac is on.
Pam14160
Yes. W7U in boot camp. I use it because of Microsoft Office. As a publisher I use Word everyday for editing books, and documents written in Word. Sadly there isn't a great office suite for the Mac, and Please don't tell me that iWorks, OO.o or even Microsoft Office are great for the Mac. And with the New MS Office 2010 with 64 bit is really sweet. That is the one I use in Windows. Adobe Indesign is the what I use to design publications on the Mac OSX.
