Corris Veteran Posted April 14, 2010 Veteran Share Posted April 14, 2010 I'll be getting this in the next couple of weeks, and it will be the disk version, like my games sitting on my shelves whenever possible.

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 14, 2010 Author Subscriber² Share Posted April 14, 2010 Is it only on the PSN in the States? No it'll be up on EU PSN this Thursday/Friday I believe. States had earlier release.
red.
Does the disc version cost the same as the PSN one? Because the disc sounds like better value.
TickTickBoom
Wow, I never thought it would come to PS3 - I wonder if the next Rockstar release will be an XBOX360 exclusive?
soniqstylz
Disc version is out for delivery via amazon. Had a few gift certificates, got this and MLB10 for $8 total.
Max_Payne_UK
Does the disc version cost the same as the PSN one? Because the disc sounds like better value. Well the US episodes are priced at $19.99 each, so $39.98 for the package. Retail it's $39.99 but many retailers will be selling it for about $35 (ish) I expect. No doubt the Euro version will be priced the same. ?34.99 retail, ?33.98 on the PSN however most retailers are selling for around the ?25 mark. I guess the thing that's good about PSN versions is you can choose to buy one episode, or buy one now and one later if you're a bit skint. As for differences, PSN version requires original GTA4 disc, however it uses every radio station in GTA4 as well in both episodes. Disc based version has 1 extra radio station of new content, but obviously doesn't use GTA4 radio stations. Either way a disc is needed for both versions, so it's not as if getting it from PSN will allow you to skip having a GTA related disc in your PS3. Max_Payne_UK
Depending on the pricing I may purchase them from the PSN.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 14, 2010 Author Subscriber² Share Posted April 14, 2010 Argos are doing it for ?22.99, however it's out of stock for now. But at the bottom it says valid selling price until July so if you're patient you can wait.

But at the bottom it says valid selling price until July so if you're patient you can wait. This is the thing. I can't imagine for one minute the PSN being any cheaper than that. I'm just more interested in being able to use the radio channels from GTAIV, as I thought they were class and very funny. Choices, choices... Jimmy0
Is this game likely to come down dramatically in price in 2 months or so's time? (Has the 360 version)? I'm tempted to hold of buying it until the summer to try and get it for less...

I'm tempted to hold of buying it until the summer to try and get it for cheaper... It's not really come down in price, ShopTo had it cheap but it's out of stock, rest are around £25 mark, same as PS3 www.dvdbargainalerts.co.uk/fetch/GAME/B002DGTL9K/Grand-Theft-Auto:-Episodes-from-Liberty-City-(Xbox-360) You might see a sale on PSN however, sometimes some really good deals pop up, like the current Burnout Complete Edition at £22.99. Jimmy0
True, might just keep my eye on this one and get it when a sale appears. It's not as if I'm in any rush to play it.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 14, 2010 Author Subscriber² Share Posted April 14, 2010 Uh Oh, disc based version is a calling Vice City FM - 80's pop music - Exclusive radio station on GTA: Episodes From Liberty City disc. (replaces The Vibe 98.8 ). (Hosted by Fernando Martinez) gta.wikia.com/Radio_Stations_in_GTA_IV Disappointing, I have no idea why DLC version can't include the new stations, not like there's a download limit on PSN. soniqstylz
Disc based version has 1 extra radio station of new content, but obviously doesn't use GTA4 radio stations. 3 new radio stations, plus the talk radio stations, and a bunch of exclusive songs. The DLC episodes add music to the existing radio stations in Grand Theft Auto IV and music from the original game is available while playing the DLC episodes, enabling all three games to play a combined soundtrack of over 300 songs. Episodes From Liberty City does not contain radio music included with Grand Theft Auto IV, nor does installing both discs on an Xbox 360 hard drive combine their soundtracks. However, Episodes includes radio stations that are not available for Grand Theft Auto IV. The Episodes soundtrack features over 150 songs, one-third of which are exclusive to the disc.
