My New Portfolio Site

Question

Hey all,

I'm a graphic/web designer and illustrator and I'd like to share my new Flash portfolio site. It took months of development mostly because of the interactivity I envisioned combined with the part where I'm not a programmer. lol

I've put a lot of effort into this site and I hope you enjoy it.

Check it out: myNando.com

Thanks!

p.s. If you can, check it on an iPhone/iPod Touch or iPad. Honestly.

Haha, good joke. Looks good but I don't see any text?

Anyway, learn some Javascript and ditch Flash :D

Oh wait, I see the loading text.

Oh wow, it really does look good with all those animations. Good job :D

lol! I'm a full-on designer and don't have the interest nor the time to start learning programming languages. I learned AS2 yeeears ago and I wanted a really animated site and that's the only language I know...I mean, aside from html & css...but you know what I mean.

Thanks for the compliment.

No, it's cool. I see where you're getting at about JS being what most all browsers use and Flash maybe/maybe not see its twilight with the increasing popularity of mobile iProducts.

Anyway, just look at this site.

When I first visited it I thought it was using Flash but it was using Javascript for all the animations.

PS, I found the link over Twitter and thought of sharing it

Ridiculous. But great.

I'd say it's a bit too overdone but it's still a damn good work of art.

Very nice artwork, but I agree with the others in that JavaScript is the way to go now. It is not so much learning a new programming language though; more so learning a JavaScript framework (i.e., jQuery, which is actually the framework alexbuga.com is using) which abstracts a lot of the underlying programming.

Yay for Mortal Kombat :)

I find your site to be a good representation of what you are about as a designer. As I am in the process of looking for a graphic artist seeing your site lets me know exactly the type of designs you like to do. Good Job.

Thanks, guys. I really appreciate the compliments.

I'm trying to get into the video game business as an artist. That's why the site's animated and why I drew a lot of video game characters. There's tons more to come, though.

I wanted so badly but I didn't have the time to add sound effects and maybe background music. I'm not good at coming up w/ nice sound effects.
