[Official] Skate 3

Recommended Posts

I LOVE this demo. Loved the skate series from 1 but could never get a hang of the flip stick tricks. Now the skate school will help me fine tune my thumb.

My friend whos a skater in real life and played this game since day one, is kickass in hardcore already like others. Its amazing the talent you find in some games.

*goes back to play demo*

Can't land darkslides on hubbas on hardcore at all. It really doesn't **** about. There are no sticky rails!

No sh*t man, i'm loving hardcore, it's super realistic and landing relatively tech tricks feels awesome :D

The soundtrack is... I thought real-life skaters don't admire this type of music so much.

There really is no such thing as 'skater music'.

Each individual skater listens to whatever they want.

Anyone getting this on the PS3? Would be good to have some people to play with. Most of my friends with PS3s aren't into skateboarding, I used to be back in the day. I didn't however like Skate 2 all that much, but I love this.

Seeing as it's ultra casual multiplayer in the sense that you can have fun with a few people in a "private" area I'd be more inclined to jump online with this than a competitive game filled with screaming kids.

I think all of us were on the 360 for Skate 2.

Hopefully the free skate challenges are a little easier this time around. I remember trying to get 6 people to hit a dragon rail in Skate 2 and it took us almost 20 minutes!

It was all DM's fault.

"Sorry." "Yep missed it again, sorry." "Oh I fell off, sorry." "Damn, sorry."

:p

Going to have to interject here, I think that may have been me. I couldn't hit and stick to that rail no matter what I did.

Well I know Neowin is 360 eccentric, but I'm hoping at least some of the folk who buy PS3 games pick it up :p

I'll be late to the party anyway, it comes out when I'm in America.

I noticed the PS3 version has an option to turn vsync on and off (don't usually see that in console games), does the 360 have that? Also it told me to recommend the demo to friends to get some free items in the full release, just sent an invite to DM's PSN account as I know he won't be spammed by it anyway as he's staying offline waiting on Geohot :p

Looks very groovy, I used to enjoy the Tony Hawk games back in the day, but only played the Skate 1 demo, can't remember if I liked it or not.

When I get my new PS3, I'll have to download the demo and give it a go.

Running looks retarded

Most of us could give less of a toss though, they were more retarded in Skate 2!

Animations all round are much better than Skate 2. The bridge between tricks are much better and a great deal smoother, it makes pulling off that tre flip to tail look even more awesome on hardcore. :p

Slight bump. This is why Skate 3 is so awesome compared to the previous two.

Well I wouldn't say one thing, but yes all the skating is much better :p

So if the OST was full of

you wouldn't say a thing?

I still insist these are not the typical songs a nowadays skater would listen to.

Again i'll repeat myself... skaters have no particular taste in music... different people listen to different types of music. It's like saying all footballers/cyclists/cricketers listen to a certain type of music each and it's just not true.

I suggest you go watch a skate video online to see what i'm saying.

Try 'Feedback' from 'Transworld Skateboarding'... a glorious mix of Fugazi and Moby

A friend of mine who came third in this years London's red bull manny mania comp just had a section accompanied by the music of Bonnie flippen Tyler!
