Benin
Can someone please explain what this means please, in terms of MegaBytes per sec/minute/hour. Cheers... Up to 4.6 mbit/s download speeds
aco Veteran Posted December 27, 2001 Veteran Share Posted December 27, 2001 There are 8 bits in 1 Byte, so therefore there are 8 Megabits (Mbits or Mb) in 1 MegaByte (MB). Just divide 4.6 by 8 and you get 0.575MB/sec or 575KB/sec. :)
Benin
Thats what this wireless internet company says they can provide. Anyone got any Experience with wireless internet?
aco Veteran Posted December 27, 2001 Veteran Share Posted December 27, 2001 That is a pretty good speed, cable is often capped at much lower than that. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think the current DOCSIS standard only supports up to 10Mbit speeds therefore a max download speed on cable is 1.25MB/s. That wireless internet sounds pretty good (speedwise), but I'd go for cable if you can get it. BTW, moved to Internet Troubleshooters
