I believe they're an Infinity Ward rep.

I don't think so, my girlfriend has a friend on MW2 that has a colored username and he dont work for Infinity Ward.

Just seen another guy with the X button (like on the controller) on the beginning and end of his gamertag.

Well, works the same way but here's how you need to do it;

Not very optimal. I've even seen people with a completely different name in-game, something like "I hate << racial epithet >>" and their real gamertag is something else.

How do you hook up your HD to the PC? Special hardware?

You need to mod your profile with a tool such as Ez - GT 2.1

Edit - Sethos posted the video before me :p

To extract your profile you could use a USB flash drive which the 360 can now use to save your profile and saves on, tutorial here on how to extract content from the usb formatted drive for the 360.

No idea how it works fully, looks like it's connected to the 360 somehow.

Here's a better video on how to do it;

If you get a screenshot of their profile when you click on their name in the game, as well as a screenshot of their name with the colored skittles around it and post it here (or PM me), I can take care of it.

These are modders and they will be banned.

The proper way of reporting modded consoles is to utilize the built-in feature with Xbox Live. Simply view their gamertag's profile and go to "File a Complaint," then go down to "Tampering" and select "System Tampering."

Otherwise you can contact someone that can actually do something.. like @stepto or @majornelson :).
