Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted April 18, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted April 18, 2010 My blockbuster keeps the games in a drawer, and puts the disc in every time. Not sure this would happen, at least in my blockbuster
DClark
What's a 4 year old doing playing Fight Night Round 4 anyway? I watched Pulp Fiction when I was six. I vividly remember the scene in the basement of the pawn shop. I am doing quite well.
Smashing Pumpkin
yeah they used to just put them in cases, but now they have them behind the counter, at least for games. and either way they still check to make sure the correct game is in there. sounds to me like the dad just wanted publicity. that and it dosent even look like weed The mother did comment on the Sun article saying how the Sun came to them asking if they could run the story which they had heard about, the family received no money or anything, meh. I agree I've seen many things before I should have and I turned out just fine. Good parenting on my mothers part (no she didnt know everything I saw of course but preached good values and set examples that I followed) and having some damn common sense. Sadly this isnt true for most parents and people in general.
Smashing Pumpkin
Such posts criticising the fact that the Sun left out the part about the mature age rating on the game are meant not as a support of state governed parenting regulations. In my opinion the freedom should be with the parent/family/child etc. It is just amazing how concerns about evil, adult rated games based on violence harming this generation's youth are thrown out of the window as soon as the opportunity to make a headline that sells, about a 4 year old being involved in an Xbox game drug bust, comes along. Amazingly even there they use 'Xbox game' as a pejorative term to draw you in before glancing over the reality of the situation in the article to focus on the drugs found. Ludicrous people gobble that **** up every day.
Black Flash
Who wouldn't be angry if their child was exposed to such low-grade weed? Smashing Pumpkin 1 Share
Spookie
Ludicrous people gobble that **** up every day. Oddly enough you all missed what I was going for. The Sun is more than happy to roast retailers over an open fire when they sell 'violent' games to kids. But never blame the parent.

Is that not what you meant, that the press is happy to overlook the parent's responsibility in all this in order to make them look like a victim?
