Windows Live Mail - huge edb log files all around the profile folder

I decided today it would be nice to backup my WLM profile, so I went to c:\Users\Soulburner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\ and found lots of edb*.log and edb*.jrs files, 2MB each, consuming in total about 61MB. Then I found the callendar subfolder which weighs 14MB, and I never even used that function in WLM. I tried deleting these files and WLM works correctly without them, but... recreates them all. 99% of these files are mostly empty - Winrar compresses a 2MB file to something like 14kB :D

I realize these files aren't too big, but since my mail is only 22MB, it's kind of weird ;)

What are they? Can I somehow make them go away?
