Gaarv
Lemme detail my pb : I have one cdrom scsi, when I insert a cd, then immediatly open an explorer... wait a little then let me explore all my computer fine. Now, I add a Plextor 24/10/40 burner in my computer, trying to do the same thing... explorer hang on, then no responding.. then no other choice to kill it, and I lost all my windows.. reboot time baby! aven a logoff don't do the trick (it don't want to log off or shutdown). Same thing from the scsi cdrom now! If I unplug the burner, everything is going fine... Anybody have an idea about wth is that ; ) I can't stand to have a burner in my comp if I must reboot every time I load a cd and opening too fast a explorer. I suppose that could be the builtin cdr XP software, but haven't tested yet. Any suggestions? thx ; )
SPaCe
is it an IDE or SCSI Cd Burner? If SCSI have you terminated the ends correctly? Try turning off Autorun on this drive to see if that solves it. I guess you may have an IRQ conflict / Broadcast storm problem. Check your Bios and event logs for more info and come back.
