Tony Hawk: Shred confirmed.... apparently

Tony Hawk: Shred. There, I said it. Actually, I named it. Somewhere a PR team is reeling.

Apparently it was on his twitter but has since been removed.

Can't wait for more of this anyway

Wow, that was some **** animation work compared to Skate 3. love the way the board is apparently bound to his feet by magic magnet force and how it can fly through stuff.

Amazing stuff ;)

What Hawkman said, a tre in mid air? With no pop? Ugh.

50p says this is the final attempt of Activision to cash in on the Franchise before dragging it out the back and putting a bullet in it's head only to resurrect it in 3 years time with a completely new developer.

I love how the Style meter goes up after that trick. Making a skateboard go through a concrete barrier without losing any momentum is pretty impressive.

Regarding the new game though, I'm surprised that Tony Hawk is still shamelessly promoting these games. I wonder how much time he spent playing Ride...

Yeah i can do that in real life and what? /s

They'd have to pull something pretty special out of the hat for it to be any good. Just leave it guys and leave us with good memories of the first few!

Remember, according to Tony Hawk the only people that didn't like Ride were people who didn't want to like Ride

I've not played a Tony Hawk game since THPS3.

... Is there really any need to play more?

Ahaha, nice. I completely forgot about that. The Penny-Arcade comic about it was excellent: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/12/14/

Nope. THPS2 and 3 were the best ones in the series. For what it's worth, I enjoyed 4 quite a bit though. If you still want to get your skating game fix, the Skate games are probably a better bet (although I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't played any of them).

In any event, Activision has confirmed that Tony Hawk: Shred is indeed real: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/22/tony-hawk-shred/

Oh joy. I wonder if it'll require a new peripheral.

EDIT: Fixed the second link.

I just wanted a less realistic Skate for fun, like what Tony Hawk used to be but the Hawks peaks out his arse, Ride was just a huge flop.

This will be too if it uses that POS board and looks like a PSP game.

Awesome, can't wait. The **** poor reception and tossy reviews made for brilliant reading when Ride came out.

Actually the best reviews were the ones done in 2/3 hours @ Activisions special press event of eat all our food, drink our drink, have some of our dollarz and we will let you put up exclusive reviews on your Geocities hosted website for mega hitz if you give us 9/10!

That sure weeded out the BS review sites.

To be honest it's what I want. I don't want them to compete with Skate. I think around Project 8 but they started to over complicate the mechanics in my books what with that close up slow motion mode or whatever. I'd like to see them just simplify things control wise and release the games at longer intervals but with more content.
