Emn1ty
Ruse should be out this June, probably one of my top 3 RTS's. SupCom is a bit dated now in terms of online multiplayer, but the campaign definitely has lots of gameplay to it. Others include what those above me have said. Buio
i second rise of nations. its old but still tons of fun. Rise of Nations is a game that I really would like a remake or real followup. The semi-sequel Rise of Legends was really good too, but didn't sell well at all (afaik). Big Huge Games that did them was sold to 38 Studios and got a publishing deal with EA for their long due RPG. To bad I haven't heard a single thing about any new RTS. Brian Reynolds was the mastermind behind RoN & RoL. Also previously worked as Lead Designer on Civilization II and Alpha Centauri. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Reynolds
laq3
Rise of nations is a great game, and earns a vote from me. However, Starcraft Brood War is imo the best RTS game ever. It's got a HUGE HUGE HUGE following in Korea (pro-gamers get paid up to $200,000 USD/year playing it). Its upcoming sequel, Starcraft II currently requires a beta key, which you can get for a $5 deposit at gamestop if you live in the US.
Buio
For sure SC is the king of the hill and upcoming SC2 looks great, but I normally don't mention those as it gets so much publicity anyway. ^^ Looking forward to it later this year, although I'm far from a good online player. Fedr0
Starcraft1 doesn't work well in Windows 7. However, later this year, Starcraft II will likely be coming out. It's already in beta testing with lots of happy players. Works perfectly in 7x64 here.

Lazure
Works perfectly in 7x64 here. So you're saying you don't get the corrupted palette nor the random hard system freezes like a large massive amount of other windows 7 users get with Starcraft? Are you running it in a VM or something?

Lazure
Yeah, I'm aware you can fix the color problems with killing explorer.exe (which is annoying to have to do, as it sometimes kills some of your notification icons)... but the other issue I and many others have with running Starcraft natively on Windows 7 is it sometimes hard freezes the system at random. Many different configurations and settings have been gone through on this, including using different themes or display modes or disabling a multitude of services. There's a big thread on it on a windows 7 forum somewhere. No one has yet found a way around the system lockup except for running Starcraft in an XP Guest in Virtualbox/VMware or using one of those 'windowed mode' hacks for it. Either way puts you with a tiny windowed screen, which is the one drawback to those workarounds.
