Question

Does anyone use a Personal Browser Start page that you have created and either host on a Server that you can access from anywhere, or simply as a file on your computer?

I am trying to get a feel for other start pages, and to see how many people actually do this.

Not me. I used have one, but then web browsers started having built-in ones that I found easier to manage.

I was thinking about having one a long time ago, but then re-discovered the extreme usefulness of the bookmarks toolbar and have never looked back since :)

I use Netvibes for my start page. Lets me view all my news feeds, developer blogs, etcetera in one place. I can leave it open too in a tab and it tells me at any time how many unread news/articles I have. You can also add your Facebook and Twitter accounts to it so you can do basic social networking too. The only let down for it is that it doesn't support mobiles like iGoogle does.

No. My start page is google.com.

Mine too. I use to have a customized start page with all my links but then I discovered speed dial on Opera (and a Firefox extension that does the same thing) and I said goodbye to my custom start page.

I use to for a few years when I was learning HTML in middle school, now its just google as default (even before I switched to chrome) because Google is usually where I start my browsing anyways - with random questions etc. Unless of course I am heading to Neowin!

Used to use linkification.org but the site went down. Was pretty good as you could make groups, choose the URLs and the hypertext and esentially have unlimited bookmarks.
