+Mystic MVC Posted April 29, 2010 MVC Share Posted April 29, 2010 The rumor is that Treyarch is doing a cold-war era COD that spans from Vietnam to the early 80s That might alleviate the issue of doing a pure Vietnam style game then. Either way I'm really excited to see their direction on this one. WOW!!! (Y) What's up with this post?
sn00pie
MW2 was pretty good, I dunno why people hate it so much.
Lamp0
MW2 was definitely my last Call of Duty purchase and I will tell every person I know to keep far away from the Call of Duty franchise from here on out. It'll be hard to convince the new generation of kiddy gamers though, as CoD is a household name and it'll sell by the bucket-loads. Why do you need to convince the "kiddy" gamers not to play it? If you didn't like Mw2 then don't buy cod any more. I don't know why you feel the need to continually bash and protest against games you don't like. I don't like Gears Of War, I don't have any interest in it or enjoy playing it, but I don't bark on about how bad I think it is. Every once in a while i'll still play MW2 and enjoy it for what it is. And I'll be watching to see what this COD is like. MW2 was pretty good, I dunno why people hate it so much. You're right it is pretty good. I think so anyway. This is an internet forum, I am allowed to say what I want; negative or positive as long as I stay within the rules and back up my opinions. And FYI, I still play MW2. Sethos
wait... I don't understand. Surprise ... Modern Warfare 2 is one of the very few games releases as of late, which can provide me with a very sharp competitive experience - Thus I play it. That doesn't mean it's a flawless experience; because it isn't - Far from it actually. The game is fundamentally broken by the sheer expectations IW was trying to meet and it ends up being a completely random and over the top experience but, at the core of it all still lies the great game it once was ( Call of Duty 4 basically. ) hence why I stop by once and awhile. Then we have the entire situation, perhaps farce is a better word, surrounding IW and Activision and lastly the money-milking of DLC packages. This all adds up to something no consumer should be satisfied with, we shouldn't take this and we shouldn't encourage Activision any longer by buying more Call of Duty games they publish, endorse and use as milking products on us - Quality has taken a back-seat and it's very noticeable. So it should be a principle matter for every consumer, to avoid this crap and vote with your wallet - We are finally in a position ( sort of ) to do it. And by the kiddies, I mean the young crowd which is very apparent in the console scene and especially in games like MW2, they aren't worried about principle and all this, they are the sort of people who will gladly buy every single Call of Duty title and keep it alive years and years down the line; it's Activision's puppets. So I still play MW2 in very small dosages, because it gives me something no other current game can but I will stand on principles and never buy another Call of Duty game again, which I hope and wish most gamers would do. I'm putting a £10 on that IGN will still give the graphics a 9 or a 10 even though they will be recycling the haggard old Q3 engine. threads merged Ty, can we also merge the Bungie threads please. You should really put that £10 towards buying this though, I'm waiting for the £59.99 RRP and £899 special edition with a real life mini tactical nuke. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 30, 2010 Author Subscriber² Share Posted April 30, 2010 £59.99? Don't be naive, this sucker will shoot past £70 And hopefully the supermarkets will still sell it for £25. When I traded it in months later I got £28 for the trade-in. Only good thing about COD games, if you get them cheap, the resale value holds up as long as the amount of time Gabe Newell hasn't seen his willy. Did MW2 see these supermarket 'battles', isn't that mainly for sports games? And yes, the resale value is always in the premium range with these sort of games but again, not planning on getting it in the first place - I learnt my lesson. About 2/3 major supermarkets around here all sold it for ?25 on release day and upwards of the first week I think.
Corris Veteran Posted April 30, 2010 Veteran Share Posted April 30, 2010 Did MW2 see these supermarket 'battles', isn't that mainly for sports games? They did. I think Asda had MW2 for ?32 down from, what was it, ?55? Tesco had it on offer if bought with another game, think it would be half price. And Sainsburys had it for like ?26 or something. Hopefully they will for this one. :D Though I dunno what platform I would buy it on now.

Ah okay, I only read about those supermarket battles with Fifa - Didn't hear anything about MW2. I will admit though, I am curious about their Multiplayer approach; back to basics or another carbon-copy of IW's latest system. The only way this game could redeem itself a tiny bit is by steering way clear of MW2s completely random and chaotic nature and get back to some solid core gameplay. According to the leak and assuming from the name it's supposed to take place through various "Black Ops" missions from WWII to present.
