El Marto
I picked up 5 copies of mw2 for 17 quid a pop in morissons on launch day and traded them into game for 40 quid each bepfre they realized what was happening!
Spookie
No doubt GAME will get some crappy exclusive pre-order deal going for people to lap up, though. People are stupid, what can you do I guess. :( According to the leak and assuming from the name it's supposed to take place through various "Black Ops" missions from WWII to present. GAME inadvertently confirmed the locations: Vietnam Cuba and the Arctic. It's odd wasn't one of the main criticisms of MW2 the whole body popping theme didn't work any more when you had your self porting all over the world to various people every 15 mins? Have they just though: "Hey **** that, we think it's a good idea! Get use to it!"
AbandonedTrolley
They did. I think Asda had MW2 for ?32 down from, what was it, ?55? Tesco had it on offer if bought with another game, think it would be half price. And Sainsburys had it for like ?26 or something. Hopefully they will for this one. Though I dunno what platform I would buy it on now. and Makro had it for ?20 :D
Spookie
and Makro had it for £20 :D Ahh Makro, home of the best hot dogs durgers ever. :p
AltNet
Anybody else read that as GMTV? One big WTF there. LOL. I did too. Interesting news, anyhow. I wasn't expecting this.
cropcircles
Wow amazing to see so many MW2 haters are here. Maybe its an age thing or that its all about multiplayer. I have been playing MW2 for quite awhile and I've had allot of fun with it and think its a fantastic game. Someone mentioned that "casual gamers" enjoy this game. I'd like to know what that definition means. No I don't sit down with food and drink for six hours with a helmet and headset to chat with online buddies yelping coded strategy manuevers to overtake a village. I like to go into the game and play for about an hour try to work through a level and then I'm done.
LingeringSoul
I actually played through the Spec Ops missions with a friend over the past couple of weeks in MW2, and those were pretty damn fun. While I was disappointed overall with the multiplayer in MW2 (I didn't like how much unbalanced crap they introduced, especially considering CoD4 was decently balanced), and while I never actually played through the single player (perhaps I should get on that), I enjoyed Spec Ops. It's not nearly enough content to justify a $60 game (talking in Canadian dollars, here), but I think that writing off MW2 as a complete piece of trash is a little harsh. That said, I'll most likely skip on Black Ops. I got some fun out of World at War, but again, not nearly enough to justify the $60 expense. Besides, Halo Reach will already be satisfying my FPS hunger this fall.

neoadorable
first off, i agree annual or even multi-annual COD related releases are ridiculous. a two year cooling period is in order. however, i agree with intrinsic and ahmz, WaW had excellent SP, the MP was so-so. MW2 BTW is better than COD4 in my book the SP was too short but the MP is hysterical. The Treyarch hate is uncalled for, they have mothers too you know. Plus COD3, Big Red One, WaW etc weren't that bad! I regard Treyarch as more pedestrian technocrats who come in to do a contract job, as such they're fine. Besides, if they give us a title where the 15 streak reward has the annoucer calling "arclight", i'm giddy as a schoool girl. Hey Mystic..remember Lost Patrol? that one nailed the Vietnam mood back in 1990!
ObiWanToby
I wish I could get a refund for MW2. I am quite scared to buy another CoD game. The nickel and diming is horrible. 15 bucks for recycled maps... for a 60 dollar game that was kinda subpar.
Livin in a box
I know I won't be buying any other COD for as long as Activision are milking the hell out of it...which won't stop. Ever.
Alladaskill17
Hope this is better then MW2 as well, but I want more single player as well - hope this has an interesting story, but months before release I guess we shall see. Come on Black Ops! Restore the CoD franchise!
WastedJoker
All the whining  Nobody is forcing you to buy the new game and slagging off past versions is hardly providing any input in a discussion about a new game. Look at the sales figures and server populations for COD4, COD:WAW and MW2 - they tell their own story.

Spookie
Wow amazing to see so many MW2 haters are here. Maybe its an age thing or that its all about multiplayer. Yeah we're all too old to use that stupid ****ing phrase 'haters' and been playing games long enough to see the game is vastly flawed. ;) Look at the sales figures and server populations for COD4, COD:WAW and MW2 - they tell their own story. Sales aren't a representation of quality though. You don't buy a sports car and declare it a turd because it hasn't sold millions. If we're going my that logic the wii is one of the best consoles ever made and Wii Fit is up there with the likes of Half Life, Quake and Super Mario Brothers 3. Edit: worded a bit harshly but my point is there's no need to bash a game when there's hardly any detail about it.

So we can't discuss anything related to the game or the obvious fact it's going to be a carbon copy of a game that was massively flawed - So everything relevant to the game, basically, we can't discuss because you are getting your knickers in a twist? It's all very relevant to the game, hence why it's a valid subject.

Sethos
you have no idea how the game is going to be like and massively flawed is an opinion of the highest grossing video games of all time ;) No, because World at War didn't exist and the marketing strategy with Call of Duty has all of a sudden changed  It's most likely going to be using another iteration of the Call of Duty 4 engine, use the exact same multiplayed perk / killstreak system and they are most likely going to adopt the terribly broken system from MW2. So all in all, carbon copy in a different era. And as for flawed vs highest selling, see Spookie's points.

Or the 4 plus million who bought the map pack for xbox ONLY... as for spookies points comparing HL to WiiFit? How can you? they are two completely different products. Or the 4 plus million who bought the map pack for xbox ONLY... Yeah, because reviews and the casual-tards worldwide are known to be the very best indication of quality. Think I'd rather go with the veteran players and those with a bit of sense, who all agree that the game is fundamentally flawed and IW really managed to mess it up completely with many of their design choices. It's funny how many people actually agree with this point and I honestly haven't seen so many players on various forums and hearing about it in-game agree about that very thing. So no, mass sales is no indication of quality and it never will be.
