Sethos
how about people playing it? what's a veteran player? I've been playing CoD since the first one i love the newest one. Single Player may not have been as good as the others but the multiplayer sure has hell was. It's kind of sad you're only argument are some completely moot points, so what if a heap of people are playing it? It's still a flawed game. A ton of people are playing World of Warcraft, then we should all just automatically love and embrace the game? You do understand the word subjective, right? Try applying it to this situation and stop trying to justify the game to us by using those irrelevant points. I consider people I'm friends with, know them to be excellent players and have experience with most of the Call of Duty games to be veterans with any credibility in my book and every single one of them agrees. Not to mention, some of the very best players I've ever come across feel exactly the same. So I know my opinion is shared amongst many players out there. So you keep on playing the game and look forward to the next iteration - Then I reserve the right, like many others, to share a somewhat more critical opinion and attitude towards MW2 and future Call of Duty titles without having to be ridiculed or my opinions dismissed because they don't conform with the general census. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaoQYJneEBM

Sethos
No mention of the ###### netcode? Hmm, good point - That should definitely have been mentioned. He did nail a fair few of the game's many flaws though.
qdave
I don't see what's the issue with mw2...it was one of the most immersive games. Short, but who cares :p Anyway can't wait for Black Ops.

I'm not a fan of WoW either, but clearly the game is good if millions of poeple are playing it and continue to throw cash at it. Of course you're opinion is shared by people, someone is bound to have the same opinion of you, but you're opinion is FAR from the majority like you seem to make it out to be. The game is fun and does a lot of things right, i back that up with review numbers, sales and people still playing the game. You back up your argument with "me and my friends don't like it" So who's arguments are moot now? god complex much?

You are the kind of person, that will buy a game and no matter how terrible it is, you will play it because there's millions of other people who do; that's what you're telling me here. There's a word for that, Sheep complex. You are clearly failing ( very hard I might add ) to separate a PERSONAL OPINION with a FACT STATEMENT - Something you do at a forum, share opinions. I said I don't like the game, I made some points and that is all my personal opinion based on playing the game. Then you come along and tell me I have to like the game because every drone and sheep out there does, because reviews are praising it ( Like they do with every game these days ) and because it sold like buckets of manure. You'd have to be thick as a plank to not see what's wrong here, when you don't like a game, you don't like it - It shouldn't be effected by what anyone else thinks. And if you played WoW and hated it, then you hate it and arbitrary numbers and opinions shouldn't change that because that's your opinion. Then you're now telling me opinions are invalid when they aren't in the majority
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted May 1, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 1, 2010 I had dvr'd gametrailers TV had a bit of an issue falling asleep so decided to just go watch the trailer real quick. From the very brief gameplay footage shown in this teaser trailer I think it looks pretty damn promising. I am one of the rare people apparently who never had a real issue with treyarch's cod's. I'm thinking this very well may wind up being an extremely pleasant surprise. My interest is definitely peaked. No doubt.
Argi
Activision doesn't care about game bugs and imbalances as long as bought the game and are still buying DLC. Speak with your wallet - buy BC2 or something.

Sikh
Thanks for the good video Sethos. I wasnt too interested in this so didnt care about visiting GT or watching G4 for this. The video looks good, but its only 58 seconds long and all CGI. Its treyarch making a game, activision publishing it and the PC Version will be $60. Unless this game ends up being "OMFG UBER AMAZING MUST HAVE" then im not gonna buy it. Hell if I get it for free ill throw it away(just like i did with MW2). I dont want to support activision. If this game ends up NOT having dedicated servers(i expect it not too) then all the misconceived people thinking IW did it, will be proven wrong for once. Yeah, its sad people believe IW was the one who removed Dedicated support.. Cause you know COD4 is still online, with more players then COD4:MW2... But yet IW was the one to REMOVE dedicated SERVERs. Yup... Wish people would think clearly and with common sense.
Sethos
No problem (Y) As for the video, while it's the usual CGI filler 'teaser', there's actually a fair few pieces of in-game video. It's not exactly gameplay but a decent indicator of what to expect. The only thing I got out of the video is, we'll be playing some sort of flashback sequences and it's going to be using the ye' ole' Call of Duty 4 engine plus a few iterations. Corris Veteran Posted May 1, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 1, 2010 Looked alright I suppose. Just hope they made the same changes to the Single Player that Infinity Ward did, no grenade spam and no infinite enemies, I never want to experience WaW on veteran ever again, lol. AbandonedTrolley
As long as it has a decent single player campaign I will get it. Never played WaW so can't comment, COD4 I liked the SP, sadly MW:2 I felt was pretty lame and far too short. Yes it's apparently got great multiplayer, but I still want a single player game please! +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted May 1, 2010 Author Subscriber² Share Posted May 1, 2010 If the supermarkets do it for £25 again I'll have a sniff. But my god the kill streaks and bombardment of sweetie covered power ups need to be toned down. I usually like playing games for fun, hence why I bum TF2, but even it still requires more skill than MW2. The "fun" aspect of MW2 was just frustrating for me, they basically enabled cheats for you... whilst ironically actually making again (MW was terrible for it) one of the most buggy and glitchy MP games cheat wise on a console. I can only assume that's because of the Activision motto, if it isn't fixed/added for our yearly release date, it's not getting fixed/added in. Chemaz
Think ill be skipping this one after the crapness that was MW2 (why? short, confusing SP, MP - Glitches, no dedi servers, huge problems connecting to servers, host advantage/lag if they had a crap connection, kill streaks too powerful, and the hacks and trying to play with friends required too much effort, the amount of times we'd get kicked out of each others party was ridiculous, and stupid host migration) the only thing i thought good about mw2 was the spec ops, and considering i only spent ?20 on it, i dont feel too ripped off. For me to buy it, they need a decent long SP, or an amazing MP with a little physics (ie you can blow up buildings) and for it to be a decent price, As for the graphics, if they're still using the mw/mw2 engine, by the time it comes out, its gona looked dated, already does a bit next to bc2
Spookie
Ha, what did I say! They are recycling the marketing method from last year too! Cheap *******. Cue Activation not sending out press discs and forcing them to to go to events with limited time schedules for each person to get a hands on with the game again. Yeah, its sad people believe IW was the one who removed Dedicated support.. Cause you know COD4 is still online, with more players then COD4:MW2... But yet IW was the one to REMOVE dedicated SERVERs. Yup... Wish people would think clearly and with common sense. Activision have said previously they want to monotonies (spelling?) PC gaming to make it much more in like with consoles where they can use micro transactions to make millions. EA are the same. But at least they've put a bit more thought in to the method. Leaving in dedicated servers and still providing free core content. Which has proved to be more profitable for them as they now have support from all three major platforms opposed to two. OOOOOOOO
COD4 and COD6 were excellent games and worth the money. Treyarch generally make crappy games. Let's hope this one is better. Too many people on the hate wagon for COD6 and I really don't see why.
protocol7
I want the next COD to be a war between cats on stilts fighting robotic t-rex's with laser eyes. In space and with voice overs from Jessica Alba, and Chuck Norris. Somebody make this game. Now.
