Where did my log off menus go...?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys...for some reason the option to "log off" has disappeared from my start menu. I have tried TWEAK UI, it doesn't help. Also if I click "Shut Down..." it will bring up the old style log off options instead of the XP default...

See the attached image for more details...

Is there any fix for this ? I want the log off in the start menu & the default XP shutdown/logoff options...

Thanks in advance...

Awesome freek!

That worked for the start menu...but the dialog that comes up after I click either "Log Off" or "Shut Down" is still the old style menus. I want to change it to the one with the colorful buttons and such.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

in user options in control panel, choose to change the way users log on or off, and choose use welcome screen. i know it works, i had this problem before.

In addition to my log off menus being the old style, this might be of assistance...

My start menu doesn't show the USER ICON.

This happened the same time my log off and shutdown dialog boxes turned back to the old style...

Hope this helps...

i had the logoff option screen problem too and realized that i had unchecked fast user switch in settings/control panel/user accounts/change the way users log on or off. make sure you have "use fast user switching" checked and it will then give you the winXP screen rather than the win2k logon/off prompt. :rambo:

andrewfee...

That is exactly how mine is setup right now. I have the welcome screen & the old school log off/shutdown menus. I still haven't found a solution to returning back to the default log off/shutdown menus...
