gator70
I think he wants to not have to use a email/messenger invitation. You must have administrator rights for this I believe. 1. Go to the computer that you want to Remotely Access 2. Go to Control Panel/System Properties/Remote 3. Under remote desktop hit the Select Remote Users button 4. Hit ADD Button 5. Hit Advanced Button 6. In this box hit the Find Now Button, this will bring up all the user accounts available on this computer. 7. Select user name desired ; Hit OK 8. In this box you should see the user name you selected; Hit OK 9. In the add users box you will see the account names that have rights to remote access. 10. Hit OK; Your done at this machine; however make note of the full computer name and domain name; On my LAN it wouldn't let me browse to the remote computer but I could force it to by using the computer name Now on the system that will initiate the remote desktop, go to Accessories/Communication/Remote Desktop Connection 1. Try browsing the LAN (as I said on my LAN it wouldn't work so in the computer block I typed in the full computer name. 2. Enter the user name (this would be the account name you selected earlier) 3. Enter the password for the above account name 4. Enter the domain name Additionally I suggest you go to the Experience tab in the Remote Desktop Connection box and change the connection speed to LAN, this will provide you enhanced settings configured for faster connections. Hope this helps.
