+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted May 4, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted May 4, 2010 Looks like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker may just get more than a PSP release, if Konami gets its way.The firm has been gauging interest over a potential PSN release for the game on PlayStation 3, which would also have online multiplayer, most likely in a similar form to Metal Gear Online. The subject was raised recently when Konami held a Q&A session with journos after a recent hands-on event for the PSP version of the sneak 'em up. It wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the world if it happened, considering main canon MGS titles have release on home platforms. And as previously noted, this used to be known as Metal Gear Solid 5: Peace Walker. That said, Kojima Productions still has Metal Gear Solid: Rising in development for PS3, 360 and PC in the meantime. For now, the PSP version of Peace Walker releases on June 18 in the UK. Thanks, Gamepro. Source: http://www.vg247.com/2010/05/04/report-konami-looking-at-psn-release-of-mgs-peace-walker/

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted May 4, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 4, 2010 I think they do it the other way round, developing the assets then scaling them down. You can't scale gfx up if the details aren't there to begin with, otherwise it's a muddy/blurred mess. They do the same with icons for OS's, create large PNG's then scale them down as needed. MightyJordan
Wouldn't mind seeing Peace Walker on PSN. I just hope they ditch that bloody Konami ID system for the multiplayer!
Corris Veteran Posted May 4, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 4, 2010 I would buy it if they do put it up on PSN, should have been developed for the PS3 in the first place tbh.

Stealthy_Singh
I almost don't care if it doesn't look awesome and have all the eye candy. I would still much prefer it on PSN.

Geoffrey B. Veteran Posted May 5, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 5, 2010 Depending on how much they charge i would get it, I just dont like that Digital versions of games cost the same as a physical copy, due to not paying for packaging.
NeoTrunks
I've already got the PSP version preordered. Hopefully they will wait awhile and release the PSN version as a Substance or Subsistance type release with many added features. Still haven't beaten Guns of the Patriots yet (I am shamed, I know), but Snake Eater remains as one of my favorite games of all time. Portable Ops disappointed me. I hope that Peace Walker is half the game that Snake Eater was (so far, it seems it will be more than that).

Less due to no packaging, less due to no shipping, less due less middlemen. From the server at the dev to PSN/XBL server and download. I would love to see a discount for sure.
