What are you most and least looking forward to at E3 2010?

Recommended Posts

Most: Deus Ex 3. I'm still skeptical about this game, and I'm sure most people are the same way. That's probably why I want to see it at E3 though. It's an unknown quantity after only a few short teaser videos. Let's see some gameplay already.

I'm also looking forward to seeing the 3DS. Again, primarily because it's an unknown quantity, and I'll either be forgiving Nintendo or tarring and feathering them depending on what they show us.

Least: Like DM, I'm not looking forward to another round of the console wars. Unfortunately, this is as inevitable as death and taxes.

And for some reason, I'm having a hard time getting myself excited for Gears 3. Maybe they'll surprise me, though.

More of my most list: Price cuts as well, Fable 3, and some surprise new IPs from MS and Sony

More of my least list: Resistance 3, Killzone 3, Perfect Dark Zero 2 or any LBP like games

Edit: ooh I forgot Max Payne 3. Hope it's better than the first 2!

wtf? max payne 1&2 are epic! I hope EA has not ruined the concept (which is highly likely).

Most: GT5, and watching those who say no one will buy it any more eat crow

I'm more looking forward to seeing GT5 at E3 2012.

This year? Fallout New Vegas, Agent, LA Noire, Mafia II, True Crime, and whatever bombshells get announced.

I really couldn't care less about Gran Turismo. Unless you have a professional set up with steering wheel and all, the game isn't really all that fun.

This is true. Which is why I have gone with the professional setup for GT5 yes.gif

I don't think they'll be showing off PSP2 if the devs just barely got the HDK. Besides that, they just released the PSP Go last year so I don't think they're in a hurry.

They could always show off the hardware itself, and I'm sure Sony have some sort of tech demo ready and waiting already anyway - even if it's uninteractive or very little interaction. I'd say it'd be a good way to combat the 3DS.

Most: Xbox 360S, Price cuts, Halo Reach

Least: Anything Nintendo (new console would catch my interest), Natal, and Move.

Surely the 3DS counts as a new console? :p

Least: Like DM, I'm not looking forward to another round of the console wars. Unfortunately, this is as inevitable as death and taxes.

Huh? I doubt we'll even get tidbits about the new consoles, unless it's little bits like "Microsoft will use Blu-Ray for the 720" or "PS4 will still use Cell" - i.e. nothing ground breaking and doesn't really answer anything. They all seem way too interested in the new motion controllers and slimmer hardware.

Most: Crysis 2, Portal 2 and anything Valve shows off, F.E.A.R. 3, Gears of War 3, Halo: Reach, Rage

Least: Does it even matter? If I'm not looking forward to it, I'm not going to care anyway.

The most interesting one was this one from GDC:

Doesn't show anything in terms of gameplay, but at least now we know it'll be shown at E3 ;)

The other video is this one, which shows us virtually nothing:

I suppose that's why I'm so interested to see Deus Ex 3 at E3. Deus Ex is one of my favourite games of all time (the first one, that is), and we know next to nothing about this one. I want to know more.

We probably (almost certainly, in fact) won't see anything regarding future consoles, but that won't stop the fanboys from getting their shots in. It seems like every E3 whenever a console exclusive is announced, people always yell from the rooftops about how their console of choice is superior because it has [insert Game Here].

The 360 fanboys will claim superiority because of Gears 3 and the PS3 fanboys will claim superiority because of Killzone 3 (assuming it's real).

Is that an older Alex Denton?

I dont know, I know its just a teaser but this seems to point to a (even more) action oriented game. Deus Ex is among my top 5 games, System Shock 2 is among those too so I can say that I loved that king of gameplay :(

XBox slim probably would have me most interested.

HL:EP3 would be nice too along with some Portal 2. Hell from Valve I wouldnt even mind some CSS 2 news if they are going to do that.

Perhaps Borderlands 2 and Zelda also.

edit: I'd also like Sony to announce a PSP 2 but I doubt they will. On that note I'd so love for MS to one day attempt a portable too that can coexist with their current Live strategy for WM7. I want a gaming device but...not just games on my phone.

To be honest, an XBOX portable right now is pointless. The main two differences between the XBOX brand and the PS Brand are the games and XBOX's Live service. When you're at home you've got an always on internet connection so you'll have a great Live experience to bolster your overall XBOX 360 experience. With a portable, you don't always have that, unless you're using a 3G connection - but there's no way you'll be able to get away with playing games online all the time, your service provider (unless you're with O2) will have your head for it.

So really, it's more about the games, and I really don't see an urgency from gamers to want to rip through the locust or get a Spartan simulator fix on the go. Maybe one day in the future, it'll be a great idea, but right now I doubt it.
