Livin in a box
And THIS just adds to the Livin in a box List Of Reasons To Not Buy An Activision Game.
Richard Hammond
Same could be said for a blu-ray of Iron Man 2. After all, they already made it for cinema...why charge for the DVD? :/ What? The underlying technology for this game is exactly the same as the one created by IW for MW2, they dont need to spend time and money creating a game engine from the ground up, the hard work is already done. "All" they need to do is create the assets like models, textures, sound, video which is relatively less work than creating a whole new game. Which is why i dont think this game is worth £55. Im not saying dont charge for it, im just saying its not worth the money considering the work they have to put into it. For example Alan Wake RRP is £49.99, the game has been in development for years, its game engine has been built by scratch by the development team, its well worth it, all Treyarch need to do is slap some new textures onto the engine and they have a game all the hard work was done by IW. thealexweb
People are not gonna pay that when the PC version at least can be downloaded in a few hours.
MightyJordan
People are not gonna pay that when the PC version at least can be downloaded in a few hours. Unfortunately, people are stupid enough to pay that. Modern Warfare 2 has sold nearly 10 million copies just in the US.

OOOOOOOO
plus MW2 was shockingly awesome. Agreed!
sambrentnall
Well I for one, will not be buying this game. I purchased MW2 on release because of it being made by Infinity ward but I have not purchased a Trenchyard game since COD 3 and will not start now. This year is all about Halo Reach and Medal of Honour :)
rajputwarrior
im not paying that much... these prices encourage piracy... Bwahahahah Where's that nub who wants to buy 10 copies as well. You're about to be £550 lighter come November  Edit: AB, other devs will follow suite ;) CE's have dramatically gone up in price already. £100 for Halo Reach Legendary (which I'm buying ) you're talking smack about someone paying for call of duty but you'll throw down a bill (in pounds, which is more then 200 canadian) for halo? (and if that guy did actually buy ten, i would die of laughter...)
Richard Hammond
you're talking smack about someone paying for call of duty but you'll throw down a bill (in pounds, which is more then 200 canadian) for halo? Theres a big difference between a quality dev studio like Bungie and some crap like Treyarch who knock out a Call of Duty game in a year.
rajputwarrior
Theres a big difference between a quality dev studio like Bungie and some crap like Treyarch who knock out a Call of Duty game in a year. that's an opinion (on something that hasn't even been released yet, but by going with the last two by them, i kinda understand it...). nothing to do with the fact he is pumping out that much money for a video game, which is what we are talking about. And teryarch knocks them out every two years, not 1 ;) (they take turns with IW remember? or did...)
Richard Hammond
Technically its somewhere inbetween, they cant make a game on an engine (MW2) before IW actually make MW2 game and release it :p.

BoredBozirini
And you will see the herd of retards buying it at stupid high prices. I've learned to wait and wait until games are cheap as hell. Two days ago I bought Fallout 3 for $20. 60 hours of gaming for $20 seems fair.
MightyJordan
I've learned to wait and wait until games are cheap as hell. Yeah, I do that now as well. I waited for Mass Effect 2, then a month after it came out, I got it for ?28, which was good, as it's given me a lot of playtime.
Smashoid
Not buying it at that price.

Sikh
Unfortunately, people are stupid enough to pay that. Modern Warfare 2 has sold nearly 10 million copies just in the US. Whats also sad is there reason to justify it "but its so much fun". Then a month later "dude this game is ****. Anyone can hack, no control over server, you loose a host every god damn match, game freezes, etc". While all this pretains to the PC copy, its sad people pay $60 for a broken PC game. Not only do they pay more, but they pay more to get less. I am officially done with COD. Started with 1/IW, ended with MW2 sadly. Got MW2 on xbox, raped it for the 1st month, got rid of it. Play MW1 on on my PC more. This year its MoH to replace COD hopefully. Activision is OLD EA now. And EA is actually bringing themselves back. Now lets hope they can actually provide us a good release for MoH (Y).
Soldiers33
call of duty series hav really been getting rubbish these days. I think the best one was call of duty 2 and 4, everything else is just same old crap.
Singh400
Sad thing is all the little 10 & 11 year old that have infested our gaming fields will moan and moan to their parents. And eventually they will give in (N)
Lamp0
What is every one crying about?! Pretty much every new game's rrp is £50 - £55 Again people are just over reacting because it's Call Of Duty, because it's Acitivision. Same old herd, same old field. Oh sorry so we arent allowed to comment on it just because you said so, ok then... If we shut up and let publishers like Activision bump prices up then soon everyone will bump prices up because no one complained about it especially for crap developers like Treyarch who crank a game out for the sake of it, we dont need a CoD game every year like the yearly increment sports games. Again over reacting. I never said you couldn't comment. You can say what you like. But you won't be paying the RRP. MW2 went through the same thing, everyone went metal about the RRP, but I got it new off amazon on release day for £28. One of the cheapest new games I have ever bought. Black Ops is being set on amazon for £45.
Dotdot
You know I remember a big deal being made about how Snes/Megadrive "Cartridges" used to cost ?50-70. Games then dropped to ?30-40 for years after we all started using discs. But it seems were heading back to the old days cept now im paying ?60 for a disc!!!!? All I,ll say to this is "trot on activision, trot on"
Noveed
After the saga with IW and activision I doubt i will buy this, I dont like Treyarch they just were not as good as IW and thier games do not justify the ?54.99 RRP at all. Activision are just plain greedy and milking the cash cow now. People will still buy it, I just hope enough damage has been done and negative publicity from the IW Saga that this fails and Activision does too.
