HouseCookie
Trying to watch Avatar on the PS3 the screen suddenly decided to start blinking similar to how a computer screen does when you change a display setting. The sound is also a little of. Has anyone seen this or had this problem? Thanks for the help -HC
basques
I have something very similar to this once in a while during gaming.it looks like the tv loses the HDMI connection, starts blinking and then comes back. During this time the game continues though, so I think the problem is somewhere on HDMI connection. This doesn't happen on any other HDMI connected device (xbox 360, media center pc etc). Tekkerson
Happens to me when my screen is too cold... or just turning it on from not using it in a while. I need a new screen :(

EmpyreanUK
I have this problem too. It's particularly annoying during online gamery.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted May 7, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted May 7, 2010 This only happens to me when I actually start a game and it's 720p, the TV obviously has to change from 1080p down to 720p. Never happens during games or video That's definitely not normal behaviour, doesn't do that on either of our two Bravias (different models). I'm running a "W" series Bravia and it does it, using Sony HDMI cable too so shouldn't be a connection issue either. Maybe I should look into my extended warranty about now then. What you're saying is whilst running a game in say 720p, it goes black, flickers, then pops back up again in 720p? Our Bravia downstairs is a 2000W. Mines is a 3500V. +Anarkii Subscriber² Posted May 7, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted May 7, 2010 Happened to me a couple years back, my solution was to buy a more expensive HDMI cable (turned out to be interference). The newer gold plated cable made the problem go away.

Could of been, but the gold plated one seems to of made the world of difference. Been using it now for 2+ years and I haven't had them issues since. Egocentric
Had the same problem on my bravia. Had to buy a longer HDMI cable due to moving hardware around and havent had the problem since. Old lead works fine on my kids 360 tho so maybe just a poor connection.

I've got a v5500 connected with a PS3 slim, although the cable I'm using is just a generic one bundled by whatever company sold me the PlayStation. AbandonedTrolley
Shouldn't really be any interference as it doesn't cross over with anything else electrical, I can switch them over, but it so rare that it happens I don't take too much notice. Mines a W5710.
HouseCookie
After talking to sony I think the problem is solved.. 1.Press and hold the power button until it shuts off, then continue to hold until it beeps 2-3 times... they told me 1 beep and then a quick double beep, but I only heard 2 beeps total. 2. release 3. Press and hold until it beeps the same way only turning the system on. 4. Option number 3 on the list of 6 that will show up on the screen. They told me it was the same as defraging a computer... hope this helps
