:p i know a lot of ppl here hate ea, but i have always been a fan of thier hockey games since the original one for the genesis. other games just don't feel right to me. btw, 2004 is looking quite improved. finally some innovation in the series after years of re-hash

I really don't thin Sega has made a decent sports game since the new stuff on Dreamcast. A friend always buys them and I've always like the EA product much better. Sega may have better graphics, but EA is heads and tails better in the gameplay.

I hope your kidding... EA makes all their Games for PS2, then ports then to Xbox and Gamecube. Unlike Sega Sports, which makes their games for Xbox, then ports it to the less powerfull console(PS2). Believe me, when it comes to sports games - Sega sports is the way to go for great Gameplay and Graphics. :)

I've purhased the EA NHL Hocket Series Since 1993 when it was on Super Nintendo, I haven't stopped since, and Don't plan to for 2004. ;)

wha? how can you say sega hasnt made a good sports game since Dreamcast?? the dreamcast games were absolutely incredible for their time, and i have been buying the NFL, NHL, and NBA games from Sega every year since ( i buy my MLB games elsewhere, normally Acclaim).. and every year has been an improvement over the year before. Read some of the reviews. Just about every game each year gets rave reviews as being the best game of its type to date. I did read one or 2 reviews this year that said NHL 2003 had better graphics than NHL2k3, but by a small margin. If you have actually played any of the Sega Sports games over the last couple of years, i cant comprehend how you couldnt find them to be a "decent sports game".. all that is my opinion though

I have only played NHL 2001 + on the pc and it owns. Dunno about Sega. EA though sucks for other games especially Fifa. Winning Eleven 6 FE all the way, and as far as baseball is concerned MVP 2003 owned, you gotta play it to believe it ;)

Sega, hands down. Much more realistic. Perhaps if you don't know much about the NHL you'll enjoy EA's, though.

5 Stars :p

New ESPN NFL Football (formerly Sega NFL 2KX) in a first person helment view: http://www.gamespydaily.com/news/screensho...ots.asp?id=5250

Not related to NHL, but it's related to this topic. Perhaps they'll do the same with their NHL version. Gameplay will always reign supreme, I think, and this may be a step in the right direction (considering how much gameplay Sega Sports already has in their games).

It would be insane to see hockey in first person.

I'll admit I'm a bit skeptic of it, but I trust Sega. It'd just be like playing it in real life, that's first person, bro ;) What's so hard to imagine about it?
