DrunknMunky Veteran Posted May 11, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 11, 2010 Well LP1 was re-released twice, so probably. They added extra content & released a GOTY version.

+Mystic MVC Posted May 12, 2010 MVC Share Posted May 12, 2010 Yeah, I just officially took Lost Planet 2 off my Gamefly queue. 3 reasons... All the bad reviews just can no longer be ignore. One or two I could write it off, but it is consistently getting slammed. The fact I would not be able to play the CoOp with anyone I actually know Then several reasons...Skate 3Red Dead RedemptionMario Galaxy 2Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (which I have unrealistically high hopes as supposedly it is more based on the Sands of Time which I loved)Mod Nation RacersALL OF THE ABOVE come out over the next 3 weeks.Never-mind the fact I also wanted to check out either Blur or Split Second and/or both as I like me a good arcade racing game.So Lost Planet 2 honestly never stood a chance against this release line up. Not sure why I did not take it off my queue sooner TBH, but it just hit me now it might be a good idea to just remove it completely. Still may check out a friends copy, but not even sure if I want to waste my time. DL how have you not played Blur yet? It is so awesome!!! /Back on topic. :p
neoadorable
the first one was a solid 6/10 for me, so really no surprises here. they can keep their impossible boss battles, i have enough frustration in my life as it is. . .
sanctified Veteran Posted May 12, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 12, 2010 ? Here's a new genre: Sci fi horror?? Dead Space, System Shock 1 and 2, etc :p
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted May 13, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 13, 2010 DL how have you not played Blur yet? It is so awesome!!! /Back on topic. :p I did play the Beta! I thought the official retail release came out either like the 25th or something no? But I totally enjoyed the Beta, when it comes to racing games I definitely prefer more arcade like driving than simulation. No doubt about it. So definitely wanted to give this one a whirl. +Mystic MVC Posted May 13, 2010 MVC Share Posted May 13, 2010 Ah sorry I misunderstood you before then. I thought you meant that you hadn't even played the beta yet. Definitely interested to see how the full game turns out because the multiplayer aspect is really rock solid.
SimplySchizo
hehe yea, GiantBomb gave it a 2/5 too. Though GameInformer has it at 8.5/10.? I didnt like the first at all. So can't say I was looking forward to this one.
macrosslover
after seeing the IGN review, I have to wonder wtf is wrong with Capcom sticking to stupid retarded control schemes and animations. A complaint of the review was the long amount of time it took to get in and out of the suit, every single time. I remember when they re-released the RE series for Gamecube and Capcom was criticized for still leaving in the long door loading scenes that were unnecessary for the Gamecube. Same story with sticking to the ancient RE control scheme for RE5 instead of using a more modern 3rd person control scheme.
Spookie
hehe yea, GiantBomb gave it a 2/5 too. Though GameInformer has it at 8.5/10. GameInformer is owned by GameStop. Of course it will get good reviews. :p
Neo003
I guess they wanted to go with the flow with mp and the whole team focused on it night & day. In the end they screwed up both  . Seriouly though after reading the topic title my first thought was "Maybe they didn't paid GS for the review".
ajua
The first one got praise for its visuals and its originality. Sadly, the controls and gameplay felt half-cooked at best. I can think they didn't do anything about it and no surprise why its getting slammed by the media. Capcom's game controls are bad in many ways and they need to address that quickly before users stop buying their games. Having said that, I have yet to try the demo or play the retail, but I won't be playing it, that's for sure.
Lingwo
I must be the only one who has got this game  I think co-op with friends will be solid... even when you get frustrated at things, I think the epic boss battles will make up for it. My mate has it also but he was awful on the demo so i think i can see where most of my frustration will come from
+virtorio MVC Posted May 13, 2010 MVC Share Posted May 13, 2010 I pretty much only bother with Giant Bomb, and it got slammed, so I won't be buying. Can't say I'm shocked though. Something about Capcom and shooters. They just don't really work.
Jason S. Global Moderator Posted May 13, 2010 Global Moderator Share Posted May 13, 2010 i bought Lost Planet through Steam for $5 a couple years ago... well worth the $5! i surprisingly enjoyed the game. LP2 looks like it should be worth $5 so i'll wait until Steam has it for that price in a couple years :p
LingeringSoul
GameInformer is owned by GameStop. Of course it will get good reviews. :p Now it makes sense. I was scrolling through their reviews, and you have to dig pretty deep before finding something that got less than a 6.0. One more review site to avoid, then :). As for Lost Planet 2, it's definitely a shame. My friends and I thought that this would be our next big co-op fascination. After Dark Void and Lost Planet 2, perhaps Capcom should spend a little more time on quality control.
.Markus
First one was the biggest waste of ?40 ever for me, was far too tedious and uneventful IMO...

macrosslover
An American 3rd party studio is handling DR2. :) so far I haven't heard good things about that either, but it's only fair to wait for the game to be released before making a final judgement.
