Massiveterra
Part of me thinks this looks generic, part of me thinks this looks really fun. We'll just have to wait and see. I'll be keeping a close eye on this one.

Unrealistic
This showcased everything I read in Game Informer last month in one minute. I agree, It looks even more generic in action than the screenshots. It definitely doesn't do justice to the Unreal Engine either.

Spookie
lol that looks hilarious. If it's anything like Painkiller it will be. That game was bat**** silly but one of the best retro shooters in years. We need more silly over the top shooters and less MW2's.
Boz
New Game Informer has the scoop on the game.. this game is made by ID and People Can Fly.. They are promising bigger and better experience than Uncharted 2 in cinematic feel. I guess we'll have to see the final game review really. Massiveterra
When was Id involved with this game? This showcased everything I read in Game Informer last month in one minute. I agree, It looks even more generic in action than the screenshots. It definitely doesn't do justice to the Unreal Engine either. But what they do with UE3 is the reason Epic bought them to begin with

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted May 13, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 13, 2010 Just looks like they are closing the gap between Gears & Unreal but in a tropic setting. Although GoW3 is supposed to have tropic areas too. Also NIN (N)

DirtyLarry Veteran Posted May 14, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 14, 2010 Looks like the spiritual successor to Painkiller, and that is truly all good by me. Painkiller was criminally overlooked. When it came out it was truly a breath of fresh air which in itself is a paradox as it was really more or less a throwback to just classic FPS games. But it truly was just an incredibly fun game. The latest iteration of Painkiller: Resurrection that was released on the PC was truly just horrible though, and I really hope people do not refer to it if they have never tried Painkiller and decided to give it a go. Without any doubt looking forward to this game. It is going to be damn fun. No doubt in my mind about that. And honestly if any genre has taken itself a bit to serious these days, it is the FPS genre. Something over the top, silly, yet on par with this generation, is actually needed IMO. LingeringSoul
Also NIN (N) Blasphemer! :p It looks... interesting. I never played Painkiller (I know, I should be ashamed), so unfortunately I can't take it on faith that this game is going to be good. I'm definitely putting this one in the "wait and see" category. I do agree that the genre needs a silly over-the-top FPS game though. This generation in particular seems to be saturated with military shooters. We could use something different for sure. Unrealistic
But what they do with UE3 is the reason Epic bought them to begin with Maybe is misread the GI article, but I thought the reason they bought them was not what they were doing with UE, but more to do with what they were creating.
