On his Twitter he said:

By the way, I WISH we were making a new Twisted Metal. Making game you've already worked on is tons easier cuz your core blueprint is

:( Hopefully another developer is making it and it better not suck. I want it to be something like Twisted Metal 1-3.

Edit: It looks like he is making one? He was bluffing...look at the post below.

Looks like he is?

Pachter and Keighley out new Twisted Metal game

It seems analyst Michael Pachter has revealed David Jaffe?s new game, even though the Eat, Sleep and Play man was hoping to keep the news for E3.

In a conversation on GameTrailer?s Bonus Round with Geoff Keighley, Pachter let some information slip while talking about Sony?s upcoming efforts at the LA show.

?So, I think? Sony really does have good first-party content, none-Move first-party content like David Jaffe?s Twisted Metal 2 Game.?

After the gaff, Pachter smiled while Keighley just looked on in shock, saying, ?It?s not announced.?

Pachter continued: ?Whatever it?s going to be called. Sorry Jaffe. Jaffe called me his bitch the last time I saw him, so bitch that Jaffe.?

Jaffe?s duped elements of the press many times on whether or not he?s working on a new Twisted Metal game.

Guess there?s no point denying it now, David. Watch from about five minutes.

I've never seen the appeal in Twisted Metal games though.

I thought that was funny also. What do you mean you don't see the appeal?! Have you ever played the first 3, the good ones?!

They just need to remake twisted metal 2. better graphics, screw the "black" darkness crap, and just have awesome textures and explosions in the different levels. They ruined the series after 2 I believe... There was one for the ps2 that was after "black" and was a decent mix of tm2 and tmblack, but it was still a little dark and hard to see the enemy.

It was a lot of fun playing local multiplayer (before online console gaming took off). You'd chase your buddy around the map with your little machine gun and then your friend picks up a mine and drops it on ya while you were chasing him (might be thinking V8 here). If you only had experienced single-player then yeah, it probably isn't as fun nowadays.

A next-gen TM game still sounds cool.

Hah, I played both the PS and the PC port of Twisted Metal 2. (yes there was a port, it wasn't that bad :p)

Sony just needs to have the people who leak all this stuff do the E3 show, and not bother really showing up except to talk about PS2 sales.

I dunno. I never played it at the time but when I watch videos of it now it's just not impressive. If I played it back when I was younger I might have thought differently.

I'm just really not into these games where cars have weapons. The only 2 I like in that genre is Mario Kart (as in the whole series) and Crash Bandicoot CTR.

And of course Wipeout but that's not cars :p

I liked it. It is more fun with more people, just like how Mario Kart and SSB is too.

@DM, Videos don't do the first 3 games justice. :p I still have TM3 and I love playing it every now and again.

Damn right. One of the best Mario Kart clones there was.

CTR was alot better then N64 Mario Kart. Not comparing any other versions only that one.

Also, Vigilante 8 > Twisted Metal. But I would welcome any new version of these games..

+1 Had so many good times playing CTR.

I can barely remember playing Vigilante 8 so i can't compare it to Twisted Metal.
