New Design. What do you Think

Question

Been working on a New site Design for my Website, and I wanted to get some input on it.

http://www.littleneutrino.com/index2.html

Tell me what you think. and Keep in mind it is not finished yet. There is a LOT more content to be added to it yet.

Currently I have one Tool to demo on it.

That's really good. nice and fast, simple and it works :)

If you wanted pointers to improve it:

- use some subtle gradients on the centre box header and footer (like the dock at the bottom)

- the LittleNeutrino text is pretty boring, maybe replace it with a logo?

I'm definitely seeing some potential there. However, just a few pointers: style the text. That's where the focus really is - you want the line-height to be such that everything is nicely spaced out, and you want the font itself to be nice and readable. The rounded corners also need a tad bit of work - they don't seem... round to me.

That's nice, but you need to proof read your text. There are commas and capital letters which are either in the wrong place or simply are unneeded; they make reading even the shortest sentences a pain :)

Doesn't work in Chrome - the dock doesn't appear, and there appears to be a broken image (in Chrome) right next to the copyright message, which causes that section to stretch vertically, repeating the background.

edit: the dock does appear in Chrome, but you have to scroll down about quite far to see it.

I have to scroll for a bit before I see the dock using Safari 4.0.5 on Mac. I take it's not meant to be like that? unsure.gif

Same here, as if the padding is pushing it to the bottom of the screen. Also, I'm getting a duplication of the top banner on the bottom It's just duplicating the gray background once I look at it again, the exact issue as Joey H. (again, probably due to a padding/CSS issue)

Same build FYI 4.0.5 on MAC

Sounds like it doesn't play nice with WebKit browsers at the moment. whistle.gif

Just noticed that there is an error with the Div creating the footer (the image is wrapping when it is not supposed to.

I am working on coming up with a better font to use then the once i have on it at the moment.

As far a a gradient That is something that i have considered, however all of that middle content is transparent. if you move the size of the window you can see the background image behind. it. I do like the comments i am getting though. and i will continue to work on it thank you.

Not sure why you didn't put my suggestions from IRC the other day into play. I brought up the line-height being too squished and your font-family being set to sans-serif and serif as default (which produces horrible fonts pending system defaults.)

Still not big on the wood bg so I'm glad you changed that but you still have position issues when the browser is resized with your dock.
