hifive
My 6 Year Old Brother just lost his 'Obelisk The Tormentor' Yu-Gi-Oh! card. Now he's crying, and crying.. So, I've decided to buy him another trading card set. He doesn't know how to play any games. As long as the card looks really really cool. That's why he likes Yu-Gi-Oh!, the cards look cool. Someone, please recommend some good trading card games that I can get for cheap. I'll most likely be getting these cards off eBay, so I'll probably get some good deals. I would buy him a set of 3 Yu-Gi-Oh! God Cards, but they cost $20 on eBay + Shipping. Any recommendations? Thanks.

lexor
if he doesn't need them to play (i.e. they don't have to match) then you can try Magic: The Gathering (origninal or Scourge edition) card deck. check the list for Scorge cards here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=magic...ardlist/scourge check out this one: Daru Warchief looks kinda like 'Obelisk The Tormentor' I'm not a player myself, my younger brother is. /edit here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgco...rollout/welcome you will find a list of all decks (on the right side in a yellow box) Edited July 6, 2003 by lexor

lexor
glad to be of service :) btw, I just looked up 'Obelisk The Tormentor' and it's $49 USD, I damn near fell off of my chair! P.S. Where do you buy them from?
hifive
He had a Chinese Version of the Card. We bought it during our vacation in New York City about one week ago. It cost $3. China Town has some cheap stuff. :D The language didn't matter since the picture is the same.
Jason the Eighty Eighth
eh, i did some quick Googling - and that card was relatively expensive. here's a picture, it didn't look very good. :p anyway, about good looking cards. even though i have no interest, i always thought Magic the Gathering had really beautiful looking illustrations. Keldyn
I enjoy Magic the Gathering by Wizards of the Coast. It is likely far too technical for his age group but they will do nicely if only wants for collecting.
hifive
Yep. I bought Daru Warchief and a set of 106 Magic the Gathering cards off eBay for a total of $10 including shipping. Not bad, eh? :)
Esoteric
Yeah, that's a pretty good deal, and Magic is the best trading card game ever, also a classic unlike these new ones, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Digimon lol

neoterixx
Magic Cards are cool, and when he gets older he will be able to play the game, and already have a lot of cards cause of his collecting. Marvel Cards are still the best!
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted July 18, 2003 Veteran Share Posted July 18, 2003 I liekd magic its alot of fun, but its kind of costly ang the ladyfriend hates it :(. Oh well, but anyone remember overpower? Classy game that was, never really got into it though. Wizards of the Coast rule! Love Dragonlance. Guest Ryan
I enjoy Magic the Gathering by Wizards of the Coast. It is likely far too technical for his age group but they will do nicely if only wants for collecting. Someone correct if I'm wrong, but didn't they also do the artwork for the Pokemon cards, or some other popular trading card game?
