Pablo2008jedi
Heather Prue: How do you feel about accusations that games such as yours are responsible for more violence among young people? Our games are not designed for young people. If you're a parent and buy one of our games for your child you're a terrible parent. We design games for adults because we're adults. There's a lot of kids games out there that we're not interested in playing. Just like you enjoy watching movies and TV shows with adult themes and language and violence that's the kind of thing we seek to produce. WastedJoker
Kid's will always want what they shouldn't have. Clever marketing, to be honest.
.Markus
This debate has been around since the first Doom game came out, and I agree with the game developer here. If the kids are not old enough to play the game, there's no one to blame but the parents and to some part the retailer.
coresx
That statement needs to be drilled into parents and the media.

Fred Derf Veteran Posted May 25, 2010 Veteran Share Posted May 25, 2010 That statement needs to be drilled into parents and the media. but... video games and cartoons are for kids, right? Oh, I'm sure they involve very cute.. what did you call them? tentacles. Oh yes, something about a squid perhaps? What's that Bob under the Sea thing? Oh yes, Sponge Bob. Something like that then? Raa
If the games are for adults, why don't they have R18 ratings on them worldwide?
spenser.d
If the games are for adults, why don't they have R18 ratings on them worldwide? That's not up to R*. But if they say they're making adult games, they're making adult games. Doesn't matter what ratings companies say.
Solid Knight
Who is Rockstar to say how I raise my child? If I make him play violent video games and watch snuff films that's my business!
.Markus
If the games are for adults, why don't they have R18 ratings on them worldwide? Same reason as why all films are rated differently, depending on which region or country it's being released in. For example, in the UK you have the BBFC which often is slightly more strict than the Swedish SBB when rating films and games...
